Seochon restaurant in Seoul: terrace steak frites at Teen Seoul
In short
Teen Seoul is a European bistro spread over the 1st and 2nd floors of a building in the Seochon alleys of Seoul, a 4-minute walk from Gyeongbokgung Station Exit 2. The meal at Teen Seoul was steak frites, grilled prawns linguine and grilled sourdough with a glass of sparkling wine, and the 2nd-floor terrace seats had the best atmosphere. Teen Seoul is worth booking for an anniversary date or a small gathering in Seochon.

I remembered how good this place was when I came with coworkers a while back, and I kept telling myself I had to go again — and I finally made it back to Teen Seoul haha. I booked through Naver before going. Catch Table reservations work too, so keep that in mind.

How to walk to Teen Seoul from Gyeongbokgung Station
Teen Seoul is about a 4-minute walk from Exit 2 of Gyeongbokgung Station. It's close to the Tosokchon samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) restaurant, so it's easy to find!

Tucked into a Seochon alley, Teen Seoul's exterior caught my eye right away — clean but full of character. It fits in nicely with the hanok atmosphere around it, and the terrace in particular is so pretty that I loved the vibe before even walking in! 😆

With the plants added in, it really has that European terrace feel haha.

The 2nd floor and terrace at Teen Seoul

Teen Seoul is spread across the 1st and 2nd floors, with an overall clean but casual restaurant feel. The space itself isn't huge, but there are tables good for two as well as seats for larger groups. It's a nice spot for a date or a small gathering!

Thanks to the sleek interior, photos come out looking really nice haha. The lighting and mood overall are calm, which made it comfortable for a meal 😆

Personally, I think the highlight of Teen Seoul is the 2nd-floor terrace seating! It's not a giant rooftop, but being able to dine while soaking in the Seochon alley atmosphere up close made it feel even more special. It was just as lovely as when I came before, so I was really satisfied.
What is on the Teen Seoul menu?

Teen Seoul's menu is European bistro style, centered on pasta, fish dishes, and steak. They say they use seasonal ingredients to bring out different textures and flavors. They also sell wine, so pairing a few dishes with wine sounds even better. We ordered Steak frites, Grilled Prawns Linguine, Grilled Sourdough, and a glass of sparkling wine.
How was the steak frites at Teen Seoul?

The black Angus sirloin cap was cooked medium, and the meat was really tender with great juiciness. The Café de Paris butter in particular added a nutty, savory richness that paired really well with the steak.
The fries that came with it were crispy and light, so they went great with the steak. A little salty, which kept my hand reaching for more haha 🍟 And since the sparkling wine wasn't overly sweet, it paired well too.
Why the grilled prawns linguine is worth ordering

Since it's fresh-made linguine, the noodles themselves had a great chewy, springy texture, and the richly reduced prawn bisque sauce soaked into the pasta so well that every bite carried deep shrimp umami. Even without eating actual shrimp, it felt like I was chewing on shrimp somehow? 🦐
The grilled prawns on top were plump and springy, with a subtle smoky char that made them even better paired with the pasta. If you like shrimp, this dish will satisfy you! The arugula also cut through the richness, so the overall balance was great. Personally, I'd recommend the pasta!
Grilled sourdough at Teen Seoul

The outside was toasted golden brown and crispy, while the inside stayed moist and chewy — great texture. Spread on some butter and it's even more savory and delicious 🧈
Sparkling wine by the glass

The wine had low body and low sweetness with high acidity, plus subtle notes of green apple and lemon. It paired really well with the food. Isn't the wine glass so pretty? 🥂 The bubbles give it an extra bit of atmosphere haha.

Is Teen Seoul a good Seochon date spot?
If you're looking for a quiet, atmospheric restaurant in the Seochon alleys, I'd recommend Teen Seoul. The food is delicious, and there's the added pleasure of a leisurely meal in a pretty space — the 2nd-floor terrace mood is so good that it'd be perfect in weather like this these days. Definitely worth visiting for an anniversary or another special date night 🫶
