Teen Seoul is a Western restaurant on Jahamun-ro 5-gil in Seochon, known for its handcut fresh pasta and grilled fish. On a crisp autumn day with a pretty sky, I went to check out this Seochon pasta spot where you can enjoy delicious fresh pasta along with the weather. On the terrace, with its great view over Seochon's signature hanok rooftops, pairing grilled sea bream and ragu pasta with an Aperol was such a healing way to spend the daytime.

Teen Seoul, a Seochon restaurant that showcases various flavors using seasonal ingredients :) The chewy handcut pasta and the sea bream that's crisp outside, melt-in-your-mouth inside — both signature dishes were satisfying.

Where to eat fresh handcut pasta in Seochon

I first tried fresh handcut pasta back when the cooking competition show Culinary Class Wars was all the rage, and the chewy yet easily-snapping texture was so fun haha. You can enjoy that same fresh pasta right here in trendy Seochon, at the pretty hanok restaurant Teen Seoul.

Teen Seoul location and the second-floor hanok-view terrace

Teen Seoul is a charming two-story Seochon fresh pasta restaurant — come out Exit 2 of Gyeongbokgung Station (Line 5), head up the main road, pass the famous samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) place, and you'll see it. There were also outdoor tables on the first floor, but I headed up to the second-floor terrace to enjoy the hanok view.

Walking into the first floor, you're greeted by an open kitchen and a great array of bottles — the drink list has a lot of charm too! Climb the stairs and the warm second-floor indoor and outdoor tables come into view all at once.

The day I met my friend, the weather was sunny and the clouds were so pretty that I was in a good mood before we even ordered — but even great weather can't beat great food, haha.

Grilled sourdough bread with butter — a nice light appetizer before the meal! It has a wholesome, nutty flavor that's perfect for whetting your appetite.

Aperol Spritz, 17,000 won

In Spain, I used to drink a lot of tinto de verano, red wine mixed with sparkling water, but here in Korea I find myself ordering an Aperol Spritz — the aperitif liqueur mixed with sparkling wine and soda water — much more often haha. Recommended if you're after something refreshing yet sweet.

White ragu handcut fettuccine, 26,000 won

Fresh handcut fettuccine finished with a long-simmered Korean beef ragu sauce, white truffle oil (my personal weakness), and pecorino cheese. It's not overly heavy or rich — perfect! Seasoned just salty enough to pair well with a drink, and the chewy handcut fettuccine went so well with the white ragu that my fork kept going back for more :)

Homemade pickles, 3,000 won

Homemade pickles made with beet and cauliflower

Maybe because I'm Korean, eating the white ragu made me crave something tangy, so I also had the pickles — an unusual combo of beet and cauliflower.

Grilled fish: sea bream, 39,000 won

Grilled sea bream with parsnip purée and grilled yeolmu

The grilled sea bream was cooked so evenly I was genuinely happy. Underneath was a parsnip purée, and the seasonal grilled yeolmu was wonderfully refreshing!

Personally, I find seafood and fish steaks harder to be fully satisfied with compared to meat steaks, but this was grilled so perfectly crisp-outside, tender-inside that I've already decided it's what I'll order again on my next visit, haha. Good weather, good company, good food in a good place — such precious moments. I hope you get to enjoy a wonderful time at Teen Seoul, a great restaurant in Seochon~
