Hapjeong pasta restaurant for carbonara and wine: Pizzeria O

In short

Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station is a wood-fired pizza and pasta restaurant in an alley near Exit 2 of Hapjeong Station in Mapo, Seoul. On a lunch date the writer ordered Quattro Funghi, carbonara and ricotta salad with a glass of wine, and the standouts were the carbonara with its soft-boiled egg broken into the sauce and the gentle truffle aroma of the Quattro Funghi. Pizzeria O is worth remembering when you want to share pizza and pasta at one table in Hapjeong.

Wood-fired pizza and pasta spread at Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station

I went out to Hapjeong for a lunch date today. I'd been craving both pizza and pasta for a while, so I looked for a place that could do both and ended up at Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station. It's close to Hapjeong Station, so it was easy to pick as a meeting spot, and the variety of pizzas and pastas made choosing part of the fun.

The interior of Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station felt clean and comfortable overall.

The tables were spaced out well, so it looked good for eating with a friend or for a Hapjeong date for two. The atmosphere suited a casual lunch just as well as an evening of pizza or pasta with wine.

Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station menu and what we ordered

Here's the menu for our Hapjeong date at Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station :) Along with wood-fired pizza, they had a wide range of pastas, salads and sides. The pizzas included Stella, Margherita, Gorgonzola, salmon pizza and more, and the pasta options ranged from carbonara to tomato- and oil-based sauces, so you could pick to your taste. Pizza and pasta alone would be plenty, but salads or sides pair nicely too. We ordered Quattro Funghi, carbonara, ricotta salad, and a glass of wine.

Ricotta salad and fried pizza dough

First, the ricotta cheese salad came with fresh vegetables, soft ricotta cheese and nuts.

The crunchy vegetables blended nicely with the soft ricotta, and the nuts here and there gave it a nutty crunch. With the tangy dressing on top, the whole thing tasted fresh and light.

The fried dough that came with it was crispy on the outside and chewy inside, topped with cinnamon and honey for a nice touch of sweetness.

Carbonara with a soft-boiled egg to break into the sauce

The carbonara at Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station had a fairly soft, creamy sauce.

The sauce coated the noodles well, making it savory and smooth, and once I broke the soft-boiled egg on top and mixed it in, the yolk's richness deepened the flavor even more. There was plenty of bacon and mushroom too, which gave good texture alongside the noodles.

Quattro Funghi, the truffle wood-fired pizza

The Quattro Funghi was piled high with several kinds of mushrooms, so the mushroom aroma and flavor came through quite strongly.

The cheese added a savory note, and a subtle truffle oil aroma blended in as well. The crust was baked golden at the edges — crispy outside and chewy inside — and it was delicious.

Is Pizzeria O a good lunch or dinner meeting spot in Hapjeong?

Ordering pizza, pasta and salad together made it easy to share a variety of dishes, and it was a good spot for a meal for two. Since it's close to Hapjeong Station, it's convenient to set as a meeting place, so it'll come to mind again when looking for a lunch or dinner spot in Hapjeong.

If you're craving pizza and pasta together in Hapjeong, or looking for a Hapjeong date spot, Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station is worth a visit. The menu had plenty of options to choose from based on taste, and next time I'd like to try one of the other wood-fired pizzas.
