I had something to do around Seoul Station this time, and while looking for lunch, I came across Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch, which looked like a nice stop for a Seoul Station date too, haha. We ordered gyukatsu and steki-don, and the meat was tender rather than tough, with properly juicy flavor too, so we had such a delicious meal! It was fun grilling it ourselves as well ㄱ_ㄱ

Restaurants in office buildings are often closed on Sundays, but Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch was open on Sundays too! We visited around 1:30 p.m. on a Sunday, and there were quite a few customers inside, haha. Its Japanese-style atmosphere came through from the exterior, so I was excited before even going in ㅎㅅㅎ

What is the interior like?

There were quite a few customers inside, so I could not take detailed photosㅠ It was neat and nice, haha.

Gyukatsu and steki-don menu information

Here is the menu at Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch. Along with the main dishes—gyukatsu (beef cutlet, sirloin), steki (sirloin steak), hamburger omurice, steki-don (steak rice bowl), teppan chopped steak, Japanese curry, karaage (Japanese fried chicken) and fried shrimp, Napolitan yakisoba, cold soba and fried shrimp—there were drinks, alcohol, and set menus too! There was quite a variety, so there were lots of choices. It looked good not only for a Seoul Station date but also for coming with children, haha.

We ordered Set 3. Set 3 included gyukatsu, steki-don, and two drinks.

Gyukatsu grilled on the tabletop grill

Gyukatsu meal served with rice and soup

First, the gyukatsu arrived! It came as a full meal with rice and soup, and the portions were generous overall ㅠㅠ The gyukatsu portion in particular was more plentiful than I expected, so at first glance I thought we would have a really filling meal, haha. The outside was crisply fried while the inside still had its red color, so you can grill it little by little on the tabletop grill to your liking!

Steki meat in the steki-don

The steki in the steki-don also looked delicious, with lots of meat :)

First, we grilled the butter on the tabletop grill!

Then we grilled the gyukatsu little by little, haha. It was nice to grill only as much as we wanted to eat at a time. I also captured it sizzling away deliciously on video~

The guide for enjoying gyukatsu said to grill it for 7–8 seconds for the best taste, but we cooked ours a little longer, lol.

Even cooked for longer, the meat was not tough but tender, and the juices burst all over my mouth ㅠㅠㅠ So freaking good..♡

Steki-don grilled and placed over rice

And the menu item I personally found fascinating at Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch was the steki-don! Usually, when I think of steki-don, I think of finished meat served over rice, but here you grill the steki yourself too. We cooked the meat to our preferred doneness, placed it over rice, and enjoyed it properly, haha.

Like the gyukatsu, the meat was soft and tender, and the more I chewed, the more nutty meat juices I could taste ㅠㅠ Together with the soft egg and rice, it became even richer and moister—a totally great combination...! You can eat a generous amount of rice and meat together, so I think it would suit anyone who especially loves a filling meal ㅎㅅㅎ

If you are looking for a tender meat dish near Seoul Station, or want to enjoy a delicious date meal, I recommend Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch!
