Yeouido window-view Italian restaurant: diabola pizza at Cuisine R

In short

Cuisine R is an Italian restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Baeksang Building by Yeouido Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking onto trees. From a window-side table we ordered the diabola pizza and the truffle risotto, alternating between a chili heat anchored by olives and a deep truffle cream. For an Italian date spot in Yeouido that feels special without being over the top, it is worth booking a window table at Cuisine R in advance.

First shot on arrival at Cuisine R Yeouido

Among the countless good restaurants in Yeouido, I heard rumors that the window seats here were pretty, so I went to check out the Yeouido branch of Cuisine R. To cut to the chase — it exceeded my expectations, both in atmosphere and in taste, and I came home from a genuinely enjoyable meal. It's especially nice these days, now that the breeze has turned cool and the view outside the windows is at its best for autumn — a great casual spot for a date or a gathering. 🌾🥀🌹

Let me share some useful tips and an honest review!

Why book a window table at Cuisine R in autumn?

At the Yeouido branch of Cuisine R, lush trees crowd right up against the floor-to-ceiling windows, so you get to eat while soaking in that subtle, crisp autumn feeling ☺️ The window-side tables, with green trees right outside, were so pretty. If you prefer a window seat, I'd definitely recommend booking ahead!

Inside Cuisine R: floor-to-ceiling tree views and wine-bottle decor

The moment I walked in, what struck me most was the lush green view through the windows.

I got lucky and was seated right in front of the big window, in front of a tree with leaves rustling in green. It was such an eye-resting view that I forgot I was in the middle of Yeouido's forest of office buildings. On one side of the restaurant, pretty wine bottles are on display, adding a distinct upscale, atmospheric touch.

The soft lighting and clean interior came together into a space that was perfect for a relaxed conversation over a glass of wine. I could see why it's so often mentioned as a date spot with your partner, or a nice place for a meetup or a blind date.

I ordered diabola pizza and truffle risotto! Let me introduce each one.

Diabola pizza: chili heat anchored by olives

Fresh and hot from the wood-fired oven, the diabola pizza had an appealing nutty dough flavor with a hint of spicy aroma.

What I personally liked most from the first bite was the olives. Diabola pizza is usually centered around the saltiness and spice of salami.

But Cuisine R's diabola pizza had olives scattered throughout, adding a nutty, rich flavor that balanced the whole thing out really well. Thanks to the olives, the spiciness never felt overwhelming, so I could eat it to the last bite without getting tired of it. The chewy dough and olive combination worked really well together.

Truffle risotto: deep, creamy and smooth

The truffle risotto I picked to soften the pizza's spiciness was also satisfying.

The moment it landed on the table, a subtle truffle aroma drifted past my nose. The cream sauce didn't sit separately but soaked well into rice grains that still had a bit of bite, giving it a nutty flavor. Going back and forth between the rich truffle cream risotto and the spicy, salty diabola pizza, the two dishes complemented each other so well that I finished the whole meal happily. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Is Cuisine R in Yeouido a good date spot?

I think I'll especially remember the clean taste of the olives in the diabola pizza and the smoothness of the truffle risotto for a long time. If you're looking for an understated but atmospheric Italian restaurant in Yeouido, I'd recommend giving this one a visit.
