A tile-roof exterior right in front of Gyeongui Line Forest Park
Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant right in front of the Gyeongui Line Forest Park walking path, at 31-2 Seogang-ro 13-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The weather's been so fall-like lately, perfect for a walk, right? ☀️🍂 I went for a stroll along the forest path and a bit of a mood reset after a while!
The exterior is done up with a tile roof that gives it a quiet, serene look, which fits perfectly with the healing vibe of the Gyeongui Line Forest Park. Being right on the path, I thought there's really no better spot on a nice day to grill meat and feel that outdoor terrace mood ✨

How big is the dining room at Gogikkun Gimchunbae?
Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch is deeper and roomier inside than it looks from outside. From the outside I thought it was a cozy, charming little tile-roof house, but once I opened the door and stepped in, the space just opened up deep and wide — I was genuinely surprised! 😲

The tables aren't crammed together either, so there's plenty of room and it felt comfortable. The outdoor line tables right by the forest path are great for soaking up the atmosphere while watching people pass by and enjoying the view, and the inner space is relaxed and quiet, which struck me as perfect for group gatherings, work dinners, or even a date.

What's on the menu, and what does 21-day aging mean here?
The menu at Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch has a nice variety: a Beef/Pork SET where you get both together, a Beef SET with premium special cuts, and a Pork SET (for 2, 3, or 4). Sitting down and looking through the menu, one line really caught my eye — it felt like it captured the owner's whole mindset.
Rather than a restaurant that 100 people visit once, I want to build one that 1 person visits 100 times
That line made me feel the sincerity behind the meat, and my expectations shot straight up! It's a great lineup for trying multiple cuts without breaking the bank.
- Set menus: Beef/Pork SET, Beef SET, Pork SET (for 2/3/4)
- 21-day aging know-how: Looking at the à la carte items, special cuts, pork belly, and short rib meat are all labeled as aged for 21 days. No wonder the flavor felt a cut above!
- Naver review event: Scan the receipt QR after your visit, write an honest review, and you get a free serving of pork skin, steamed egg, or beef brisket doenjang stew (with rice) — don't miss this sweet deal! 🎁

Does the staff grill the meat for you?
At Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch, a staff member grilled our meat to just the right doneness. Once our order was set on the grill, gorgeous top-grade meat with beautiful red marbling arrived alongside a generous pile of minari (water dropwort) and mushrooms that are delicious fresh off the grill. Just looking at it, you could tell how fresh it was — the visual was insane… 👏
And here's another thing that got me! A very young, very pretty staff member grilled the meat with such care, getting the doneness perfectly right! 🥺💖 You know meat grilled by someone else always tastes the best, right? When a kind, pretty staff member grills it golden brown for you, I'm not exaggerating when I say it tasted several times more savory and delicious — pure magic. I couldn't stop reaching for my chopsticks 🥢🔥

Finishing the meal: half-and-half naengmyeon and diced fried rice
After finishing the meat, it was time for the meal course! Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch offers half-and-half naengmyeon and diced fried rice (for 2). Stopping here wouldn't do Gogikkun Gimchunbae justice 😎
Half-and-half naengmyeon (cold noodles) 🥣
Raise your hand if you've ever been stuck deciding between icy mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) and spicy-sweet bibim-naengmyeon (mixed cold noodles)! 🙋♀️ Here they have a half-and-half option, so you can slurp down both flavors at once without agonizing over it. A perfectly clean palate cleanser after all that meat!
Diced fried rice for two 🍳
The savory aroma of the diced fried rice cooking right on the grill nearly knocked me out… Even though I was stuffed to bursting after all that meat, I somehow kept scooping up spoonful after spoonful — a total miracle 🤤 (Food tastes so good it's zero calories, right...?)

Protein before Halloween dance practice
This meal at Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch was eaten right before dance practice. I'd actually signed up for a Halloween performance class as a sort of comeback after taking a break from dancing. I had to head straight to practice after eating! 🎃👻
You can't dance well when you're hungry going in, so filling up with quality protein and delicious carbs at Gogikkun Gimchunbae fully charged my energy ⚡ Thanks to that, I was able to dance more energetically and powerfully! A day of experiencing real meat power 💥
If you're looking for a proper aged-meat spot with the Gyeongui Line Forest Park vibe and a comfortable, roomy space, definitely check out Gogikkun Gimchunbae Hongdae Supgil Branch! Highly recommend 👍
