Yeouido Italian restaurant à la carte pizza and aglio olio: Cuisine R
In short
Cuisine R is a 15-year-old Italian restaurant on the second floor of the Baeksang Building in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, between Yeouido Station and National Assembly Station. Booking ahead, the writer ordered three à la carte dishes at Cuisine R: the bestselling prosciutto e rucola pizza (28,000 won), ragù bolognese (25,000 won) and aglio olio (22,000 won). The aglio olio was the favourite, with sauce clinging thickly to the noodles despite being an oil pasta, and the wide, tidy dining hall made for an unhurried meal.

Cuisine R, a Western food spot near National Assembly Station and Yeouido Station! It's a 15-year-old Italian restaurant run directly by an owner-chef with 25 years of experience. Cuisine R's thing is that it doesn't use artificial seasoning, instead drawing deep flavor from natural ingredients!

What the Cuisine R dining room and seating are like
The inside of Cuisine R has everything from a spacious hall to quieter seats further in for a calmer meal. It felt like a good spot for a Yeouido office lunch during the day, and for a Yeouido dinner date, work dinner, group gathering, or anniversary in the evening :)

Since we'd reserved ahead, our table already had tableware and glasses neatly set. The whole place had a clean vibe, so this should be useful reference if you're looking for a good restaurant near Yeouido Station!

What is on the Cuisine R menu
Cuisine R has everything from set menus to à la carte pasta, pizza, risotto, and steak. With such a wide range of options, it seems like a great place to pick something that fits your taste whether you're just looking for a good Yeouido Station restaurant or coming for a Yeouido Western-food date.

Bread and balsamic dip before the meal
After ordering, the pre-meal bread came out first! One piece per person, served with balsamic sauce and wet wipes :)

The bread was better than I expected, haha. It had a subtle butter flavor, soft and nutty, and it went really well dipped in the balsamic sauce!

What we ordered at Cuisine R and what it cost
Here's what we ordered at Cuisine R, a well-reviewed restaurant near Yeouido Station!
- Prosciutto e Rucola (28,000)
- Ragù Bolognese (25,000)
- Aglio Olio (22,000)

Prosciutto e rucola pizza, 28,000 won
The prosciutto e rucola pizza we ordered. It's Cuisine R's bestseller, so I was curious and ordered it. Topped with prosciutto, rucola, cherry tomatoes, and cheese, it looked hearty and just plain delicious right off the bat!

Taking a bite, the cheese stretched nicely and the crust was chewy-crisp — even better than I expected!

The prosciutto was salty with its own distinct flavor, and it paired well with the rucola. I thought the prosciutto might make it too salty, but the cherry tomatoes and rucola balanced it out nicely.
In between, we had a pickle to cleanse the palate—!

Aglio olio, 22,000 won
My favorite of everything we ate — the aglio olio! I generally like oil pasta anyway, so I had high expectations, and it ended up being my favorite dish among everything we ordered at this Yeouido Western-food spot.

Mixing the noodles and sauce evenly, the thick sauce clung right onto the noodles! Even though it's an oil pasta, the sauce didn't feel like it was just lightly scattered — it blended into the noodles beautifully, making it even tastier 🤤🤤

The garlic aroma plus the nutty oil flavor made it delicious, and if I come back to Cuisine R, I think I'd order this again, haha.

Ragù bolognese, 25,000 won
The ragù bolognese had rich ragù sauce topped with cheese and rucola, and it looked quite appetizing too. It seemed like a good pick for a Yeouido Western-food date, and since the sauce is on the richer side, it'd pair well with wine too.

I piled the ragù sauce onto the noodles and took a bite — the sauce was rich, so it tasted even better together with the pasta. There was a generous amount of meat and sauce, and it had a heavier flavor completely different from the aglio olio — good thing we ordered both!

Is Cuisine R worth a visit near Yeouido Station?
Cuisine R was spacious and clean, making for a relaxed meal! If you're looking for a good restaurant near Yeouido Station or National Assembly Station and want Western food like Yeouido pasta or Yeouido pizza, this is a solid place to visit. With its clean atmosphere, I'd also recommend it for a Yeouido Western-food date, a Yeouido Italian restaurant search, or just a Yeouido date spot in general :)
