I was looking for something hearty to eat in Sindorim and ended up at Sambaekga! Jokbal (pig's trotters) and bossam (boiled pork wraps) feel like dinner food to me, but Sambaekga also has lunch options like kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and bossam set meals, so it looked like a good spot for anything from lunch to a dinner gathering!!

What's on the menu at Sindorim Sambaekga?
What I liked most about this Sindorim jokbal-bossam restaurant was being able to enjoy jokbal, bossam, and kalguksu all in one place. There was a standing sign out front with the menu and prices, so I could check what was available before going in.
Alongside the sambaek kalguksu and clam kalguksu, there were also bossam set meals and combos where you can enjoy jokbal and bossam together — quite a range. For lunch, a simple kalguksu or set meal seemed like a good pick, and for a group visit, ordering jokbal and bossam generously seemed like the way to go.

Inside Sindorim Sambaekga: seating and how long the wait is
Walking inside, the place had a bright, clean atmosphere overall. The tables weren't cramped together, and when I visited there were quite a lot of diners already eating.
There were families eating together and tables with larger groups too, so it seemed like a solid choice in Sindorim for family meals, friend gatherings, or work dinners. When we walked in it was busy, so we waited about 10 minutes.

The self-serve bar: banchan, barley rice and peach juice
There was a self-serve corner off to one side. You could take as much banchan (side dishes) as you needed, and there was a separate spot for barley rice too. There was also peach juice, so you could cleanse your palate on the way out!

Ordering at the kiosk: front-leg jokbal + spicy sauce jokbal and makguksu set
Ordering by kiosk made payment super easy, and with 2 hours of free parking too, everything was really convenient. There were so many menu options that I spent ages just deciding! Since we love jokbal, we went with front-leg jokbal plus the spicy sauce jokbal makguksu set.

I sometimes hesitate to order jokbal or bossam because I feel like it needs to be shared among several people, but Sambaekga has lunch set meals and kalguksu, so it seems less of a commitment for one or two people. In the evening, it seemed like a great atmosphere for ordering jokbal and bossam generously alongside a drink. The table next to us was actually there for a daytime work dinner..!

How does the jokbal taste, from the naengchae taster to the spicy sauced trotters?
We tried the jokbal this time, and once everything was set on the table, the portions were pretty generous right away. They also gave us a naengchae jokbal (cold jokbal salad) taster, which was really springy and so good that it got me even more excited for the main dish.
The jokbal had a nice sheen, with skin that was chewy and meat inside that was completely tender. It wasn't dry at all — nice and moist, good even on its own — and it went even better with the chive salad, garlic, and wrap vegetables that came with it.

The jokbal with the spicy sauce especially kept pulling my chopsticks back — sweet and spicy sauce properly coated onto the meat. As in the photo, topped with what looked like grilled onion, eating it in one bite made for a great combo of sweet-spicy sauce and meat. There was plenty of sesame seeds and green onion on top too, making it look really appetizing.

Can you see how springy the jokbal is..? Ah, you really have to try this..T_T. From what's posted outside, the kalguksu also seems to be one of their signature menu items they take pride in. Maybe that's why, even though they specialize in jokbal and bossam, I noticed a lot of tables ordering kalguksu together at lunch.
Is Sindorim Sambaekga worth it for jokbal and bossam?
If you're looking to eat jokbal and bossam together in Sindorim, or want a place where you can also enjoy warm kalguksu, this is worth a visit. With its clean atmosphere, generous portions, and self-serve bar, Sambaekga made for an all-around comfortable meal!
If you're searching for a Sindorim jokbal-bossam restaurant, put Sambaekga on your list — you can enjoy jokbal, bossam, and kalguksu all in one place. It seems especially satisfying if you visit with several people and share a bit of everything.
