I found a great jokbal spot right in front of Sindorim Station. Loads of affordable solo dining options — totally doable for eating alone!! Parking is also easy here, which is a big deal in Sindorim, a neighborhood notorious for tight parking. If you're looking for a place that does jokbal, kalguksu, makguksu, and doenjang soup at great value, this is it. Sindorim's own Sindorim Sambaekga (신도림삼백가).

Where is Sindorim Sambaekga, and where do you park?

Sindorim Sambaekga sits right in front of Sindorim Station, inside the Sindorim Prugio 1 mall. It's connected to Homeplus, and the mall has all kinds of restaurants and cafés, so there's plenty to do after your meal!!

For parking, just pull into the Sindorim Prugio 1 lot. Park on basement level 3, the mall parking floor!! Seems to be shared with Homeplus. Mention it at checkout and they'll add parking time for you. A whopping 2 hours.

Sindorim Sambaekga menu prices and seats for solo diners

Make sure to leave a Naver receipt review — they'll give you free kalguksu or makguksu for it. There are of course standalone jokbal and bossam dishes too,

and there are also set menus that come with kalguksu or makguksu. The jokbal in the set looked like the large size to me. Three adults ordered the jokbal+makguksu set and still couldn't finish it, left a bit behind haha. What really stood out to me is that the meal menu has single-serving set options, and the bossam set is just 10,900 won — insanely good value! There are lots of one- and two-person tables too, so eating solo here is completely stress-free.

Besides the bright main hall, there's also a table set apart in the back — no door, but it feels like a private room, so it'd be great for a work dinner too. So private!!

Self-serve bar, homemade kimchi and side dishes at Sindorim Sambaekga

They give you plenty of banchan (side dishes) to start, but if you need more there's a self-serve bar to refill. If you order kalguksu, they also give you free barley rice. Barley bibimbap is just so good ㅠㅠ don't forget to grab some.

All the kimchi-type dishes, like the fresh-tossed geotjeori, are made in-house. That's probably why it tastes even better. Honestly, at a jokbal-bossam place, the kimchi is the real test.

House-made kimchi and geotjeori side dishes

As soon as we ordered, the side dishes came out fast. Geotjeori, dried radish strips, chive salad, three kinds of sauces, wrap vegetables, and even a cold jokbal salad!!

This naengchae bossam...? naengchae jokbal...? Apparently it's free. Genuinely amazing. But it was so good I want to order it as a dish on its own next time.

I loved how clean and tidy all the side dishes looked. And the most unique thing — they give you a garlic sauce. I've had garlic bossam before, but garlic jokbal was a first for me. Surprisingly, it works really well together. Garlic sauce is a must!! We even asked for a refill.

Since all the kimchi is handmade, it's genuinely delicious. They said it's made with persimmon, which might be why it's so refreshing and crunchy.

Even the wet wipes are super cute haha.

What the 50,000 won jokbal and makguksu set is like

We ordered the jokbal+makguksu set!! There's also a kalguksu set, but when I visited it was still a bit warm out for hot noodle soup, so we went with makguksu instead.

  • Jokbal + makguksu set: ₩50,000
A generously piled plate of jokbal

The portion of jokbal is huge. There's even more than it looks. Chewy and tender, so good. And fresh, piping-hot jokbal straight out of the kitchen is just amazing ㅠㅠ

Makguksu served as part of the set

The makguksu was on point too, vegetables and toppings and all. Doesn't look like it, but the portion is huge. Tangy, and it went really well with the jokbal. Jokbal with makguksu is always a winning combo.

That garlic sauce + jokbal combo I mentioned earlier!! This is genuinely insane, so good. I don't know why I never tried this before, but please, please eat it this way.

We wrapped it up neatly in lettuce and dipped it in sauce too — no matter how you eat it, it's delicious*_*

The free extras that kept arriving

They also serve free dried-radish-green doenjang soup. Wait, why does the free stuff just keep coming... every single thing was so good we couldn't leave anything behind ㅜ

On the way out, even peach juice. Such a generous owner. Sindorim Sambaekga is a great-value jokbal restaurant in Sindorim where solo dining is totally welcome. A true jokbal and bossam spot that just keeps the freebies coming!! If you're hunting for a good restaurant near Sindorim Station, come straight here.
