29 Tamago is a gimbap spot in Euljiro3-ga, and the keto tuna is exactly the kind of thing you want when you're trying to eat clean.
Lately I've been working out and trying to watch what I eat a little, and it's surprisingly hard to pick a lunch spot outside. Salads and poke bowls get old fast, but regular gimbap makes me nervous about the rice, so I went looking for somewhere in Euljiro that does keto gimbap and ended up at 29 Tamago Euljiro Branch.

What I ordered this time was the signature keto tuna, signature spring rolls, and vegetable whole-egg gimbap. I thought it'd be a keto-gimbap-only place, but once I got there the menu turned out to have way more options than I expected — spring rolls, egg gimbap, even noodle dishes.

What is on the 29 Tamago menu?

The menu at 29 Tamago Euljiro Branch ranges from keto tuna, keto crab stick, keto chicken breast, keto vegetable, and keto carrot slaw to whole-egg gimbap and spring rolls, plus noodle dishes like egg-sheet udon, jjolmyeon (spicy cold noodles), and perilla oil buckwheat noodles. I thought there'd just be a few types of keto gimbap, but the menu board turned out to have way more variety than I expected.
What I ordered was the signature keto tuna (₩10,500), signature spring rolls (₩12,000), and vegetable whole-egg gimbap (₩8,500) — three things 🥹

If you're looking for diet-friendly food in Euljiro, the keto lineup is especially recommended! It's not just gimbap with less rice — dishes like keto tuna and keto vegetable are a separate category built around rice paper and vegetables instead of rice.

The vibe inside is really nice too.
All three dishes on one table at 29 Tamago

With all three of 29 Tamago's dishes out at once, the colors alone set it apart from a regular gimbap place. The yellow egg and the colorful vegetables make for a pretty cross-section 👁️👅👁️ Each piece was also thicker than it looked in photos, so despite being 'keto gimbap,' the portions didn't look skimpy at all.

Ordering a few different kinds to share meant each one had its own texture, so it didn't get boring as fast as I expected.
Vegetable whole-egg gimbap, 8,500 won: the one with rice

Unlike the keto menu, the vegetable whole-egg gimbap (₩8,500) is a rice-based dish. It's packed with seaweed, rice, carrot, burdock root, cucumber, spicy fish cake, Spam, pickled radish, and a whole rolled egg.

With so much egg in it, the overall texture is soft, but with vegetables, fish cake, and Spam mixed in too, it didn't taste like a plain, one-note egg roll.

Compared to the keto tuna, this one is definitely closer to the gimbap flavor we already know. So even if someone in your group isn't watching what they eat, this makes picking a menu pretty easy.
The surprisingly unusual signature spring rolls, 12,000 won

The most unusual dish at 29 Tamago was the signature spring rolls (₩12,000). At first I thought it'd literally come as a plate of separate vegetables with rice paper to wrap yourself haha, but it actually arrives already rolled into bite-size pieces, like gimbap.

Inside the rice paper are green lettuce, carrot, cucumber, bell pepper, pineapple, crab stick, and rolled egg, and it comes with a dipping sauce on the side.

With so much vegetable content, the crunch is really noticeable, and the pineapple in the middle adds a slightly refreshing note. So this would suit someone who wants something lighter and fresher rather than the rich, savory feel of the tuna gimbap. Personally, if I were ordering a few dishes together, pairing one keto gimbap with one spring roll worked well
Inside the signature keto tuna roll, 10,500 won
What I was most curious about was the signature keto tuna (₩10,500). Instead of rice like regular gimbap, it's rice paper filled with green lettuce, carrot, burdock root, red cabbage, cucumber pepper, tuna, and rolled whole egg.

Looking at the cut cross-section, egg and vegetables fill most of where the rice would be, and tuna is packed in the middle too. So when you eat it, the rolled egg is soft, the tuna is savory, and the vegetables give a crunch here and there, so the texture wasn't as plain as I expected.
Why 29 Tamago works as a Euljiro lunch

Before going, I expected 29 Tamago to feel like a restaurant strictly for people on a diet. But looking at the actual menu, you can go with keto gimbap or rice-based whole-egg gimbap, and there are sides like noodles or tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) too, so the range of choices was wider than I thought.

Especially for anyone hunting for a good Euljiro lunch spot while also trying to watch what they eat, I'd really recommend this place haha.
Honest review of 29 Tamago Euljiro Branch

Something I've noticed while trying to eat cleaner lately: the options when eating out are surprisingly limited. Eating nothing but chicken breast, poke, or salad every day gets seriously old haha. What I liked most about 29 Tamago is that you can still get that gimbap feeling while choosing a keto option.
If I go back, I think I'd get the keto tuna on days I'm being strict with my diet, the spring rolls on days I want something light and fresh, and the vegetable whole-egg gimbap on days I just want a hearty gimbap. If you're near Euljiro3-ga looking for something a bit different from regular gimbap, or hunting for diet-friendly food in Euljiro or a good gimbap restaurant in Euljiro3-ga, I'd recommend it ☘️❤️
