Byway Bakers is a bakery I stopped by while I had errands near Balsan Station in Magok! It's on the first floor of the Gangseo Veterans Affairs building, with NC Department Store and Deungchon Jugong Apartments nearby.

Maybe because it's near a residential complex, quite a lot of customers were coming and going.

What kind of bakery is Byway Bakers?

Byway Bakers Balsan Station has a pretty wide dine-in space, so it could really be called a bakery café. Many people were eating in the store, and many others were picking up pre-ordered items. There are kids' chairs in the store, so it's a considerate café where parents with children can comfortably enjoy bread and drinks too.

I looked into what "wakppu" salt bread was because I was curious about the look of it.

Apparently it's salt bread with a crunchy chocolate coating and added cream!

Made with Valrhona cocoa powder and Callebaut chocolate — pricey but great-tasting chocolate, the max-level chocolate flavor of the double chocolate baguette! A lot of people in the store were eating this baguette, which made me curious. There's also mocha salt bread, ham cheese salt bread, and egg salt bread.

Salt bread is a bit cheaper as a 4-piece package, so salt bread fans should take note!

My pick for the day, what I took to go: egg salt bread + pecan pie financier, chocolate financier, egg tart.

With chocolate and salty together, both the texture and the sweet-salty flavor were good. Not soft — more crisp outside, chewy inside! The chocolate has a very rich flavor, so you can taste the nutty flavor and the chocolate flavor together. Not overly sweet either!
