Guwol-dong ramen served in 5 minutes, jambon double set: Menya Seoul

Today's post is a review of Menya Seoul, a ramen restaurant in Lotte Department Store in Guwol-dong, Incheon :) My boyfriend and I both love Menya Seoul, so this is a return visit! If you're looking for a ramen restaurant in Guwol-dong, I recommend it!

You can use the Lotte Department Store parking lot! For shopping, use the above-ground lot; if you're mainly there to eat, use the basement lot. They give you 1 hour free parking when you use the restaurant! Only 1 vehicle can be registered, so keep that in mind before you visit!

What are the food court bar tables at Menya Seoul like?

It's located inside the B1 food court of Lotte Department Store in Guwol-dong, Incheon! The seating wraps around the food court in a bar-table style! There are about 15 seats total :) Since it's a food court, you can also move to other seats, so keep that in mind!

Menya Seoul menu and what the couple ordered

As befits a ramen specialist restaurant in Guwol-dong, ramen is the main menu, and they've even launched new summer items! I've also tried the mazesoba (brothless ramen) before and it was quite good, so I recommend that too! The mild broth is regular tonkotsu, and the spicy broth is mild broth plus a spicy sauce.

The food came out really fast today! Almost a 5-minute cut...! We were hungry, so that was awesome... Side dishes were 1 type of kimchi and danmuji (pickled radish), and if you need more you can go to the counter and get it from staff :)

How was the jambon ramen double set, 17,900 won?

This is ramen topped with jambon beurre ham. I think this was my first time having ramen with jambon beurre on top. I'd mostly only had ramen topped with char siu, so since jambon was new to me, I ordered it! The toppings included minced garlic, a soft-boiled egg, and green onion, so it looked delicious just from the visual!

Wait... isn't this the ramen from Ponyo...? So cute. This is literally Ponyo's ramen in real life...

It was a bit unexpected, but the jambon wasn't very salty! So it went really well with the ramen. It was slightly salty in a good way and paired well with the tonkotsu broth. Adding minced garlic was a total game-changer! Minced garlic goes so well with tonkotsu ramen, right?

The noodles were cooked just right! Not too hard, not overcooked, just the right amount of soft chewiness, so they went down smoothly.

I enjoyed the soft-boiled egg thoroughly too ~-~

Can tonkotsu beginners handle Menya Seoul's mild broth?

Tonkotsu ramen usually has that distinctive funky flavor, but this ramen barely has that funk, so I think even tonkotsu beginners could easily enjoy it!

The set sides: gyoza and a zero cola

The set menu lets you choose a drink and a side dish too, so I chose gyoza (dumplings)! We got 3 pieces of gyoza to share, and they were crispy and good for eating one bite at a time. My drink is always zero cola!

Spicy dongpo pork ramen double, the boyfriend's favorite

Dongpo pork ramen! I always order it with the spicy broth, and this is my boyfriend's absolute favorite menu! It comes with 2 pieces of jambon beurre ham on top and 2 large pieces of dongpo pork too.

Pretty thick, right? The dongpo pork was so tender it practically melted in your mouth! There's bean sprouts in the ramen too, so eating the meat and sprouts together gave the best texture!!
