After finishing our shopping and heading down to the basement 1 food court, among all the various restaurants, Menya Seoul caught my eye with its rich broth aroma — a standout restaurant at Lotte Department Store Incheon.

Being inside the food court, it's easy for solo diners too, and for my husband and me it was a comfortable stop to sit down and eat mid-shopping — the flow and atmosphere were both really pleasant!

What I chose at Menya Seoul was the spicy broth dongpo pork set. It's a dish with broth flavored using 25 ingredients, topped with dongpo pork made from 100g of whole-cut pork belly.

We each ordered a set menu tailored to our tastes, and what I picked was the spicy broth dongpo pork set!

As soon as the food arrived, the broth's color stood out — instead of a light, refreshing feel, it had a deep, rich flavor from the 25 ingredients that filled my mouth completely. It was truly amazing!

The dongpo pork on top especially was made from a whopping 100g of whole-cut pork belly, and the thickness was incredible! When I gently touched it with my chopsticks, it crumbled apart so softly — it was braised until so tender 😭

Wrapping the moist, tender meat with the noodles and eating them together, the balance of savory richness and spiciness was truly perfect.

On top of that, the tamago (soft-boiled egg) that's been aged for 48 hours in a special sauce was seasoned right through, and each bite just melted away — it was a moving flavor experience!

The karaage I tried had a crispy exterior that made an audible crunch with each bite, while the inside was full of juicy chicken flavor, and my husband's crispy gyoza truly lived up to its name — the outside was fried extra crispy, with an explosion of nutty flavor.

Both were light and not greasy, with a clean crispiness that paired perfectly with the ramen.

For our drink, we went with zero-sugar cola for a clean finish, and since a Coca-Cola event happened to be running, we scored an adorable keyring as a bonus — which put us in an even better mood! 🛍️✨
