Yeongdeungpo Korean restaurant with six appetizers: Modam Urban

Work has been so nonstop lately that I was working late every single day. I really needed a proper change of pace from the daily grind, so I went on the hunt for a much-talked-about IFC spot in Yeouido with a coworker.

We headed to Modam Urban’s Yeouido branch, where you can enjoy beautifully presented Korean food.

It’s a romantic Yeouido date spot to visit with your partner after work, as well as a polished destination for a formal Korean set meal.

As a private-room restaurant in Yeouido, it felt perfect as an after-work hideout.

I was expecting a wonderful course lineup, every bit as good as an upscale Seoul omakase restaurant. From my very first visit, it became my top IFC favorite in Yeouido.

Six appetizers included with a main order

I was so impressed that simply ordering a main dish brought six gorgeous appetizers free of charge. True to its reputation as a standout IFC restaurant in Yeouido, the attention to detail in the table setting was no joke.

First up was black sesame mung bean porridge, wonderfully light and wholesome.

The grilled baby corn salad was crisp, while the sliced mushroom pressed meat and truffle chamnamul (Korean wild chervil) salad had a lovely, subtle truffle aroma.

The chilled salad with smoked duck was pleasantly savory, and the perilla-oil capellini was rich and nutty—so good!

The spicy mushroom gangjeong (sweet-and-crispy glazed fritters), especially, completely won me over.

This thoughtfully prepared Korean set table in Yeouido made all my built-up fatigue melt away.

It felt like a lovely Seoul omakase restaurant, so I highly recommend it as a Yeouido date course for couples.

Minari Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap and seared bulgogi

Just as we were happily working our way through the appetizers, the minari Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap and seared bulgogi with its smoky aroma arrived. I was surprised by how generously the bibimbap was topped with fresh yukhoe (seasoned raw beef). The gently smoky seared bulgogi was such a perfect rice companion.

This IFC favorite in Yeouido had such deep, satisfying flavors that I couldn’t stop smiling while I ate.

The neat, refined Korean set-meal dishes in Yeouido were easy on the stomach and wonderfully clean-tasting. Enjoying delicious food in the spacious, upscale private room was genuinely restorative.

The food quality was on the level of a Seoul omakase restaurant, so I was really glad I came here for a Yeouido date with someone special.

A private-room restaurant for family gatherings and formal introductions

The tables are modern and neatly arranged, and the whole restaurant has such a lovely atmosphere. It’s just right for a weekend Yeouido date and deserves praise as a perfect private-room restaurant. Once that graceful Korean set meal is laid out, you can see why it would be great for bringing your parents. With the feel of a refined Seoul omakase restaurant, it would also be ideal for a formal meeting between families or a group gathering.

They even have high chairs thoughtfully prepared, so it would be truly great for family gatherings too. Definitely approved as a satisfying IFC restaurant in Yeouido!
