In short

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is a Korean snack restaurant in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. I sampled spicy-sweet wheat-rice-cake tteokbokki, sundae, fried snacks, and mini gimbap in one set. Hyeonseonine is a handy stop when you want spicy Korean snacks at IFC Mall.

When you’re craving spicy Korean snacks at Yeouido IFC Mall

Today, I’m reviewing Hyeonseonine at Yeouido IFC Mall. I was deciding what to eat at IFC Mall and suddenly wanted spicy tteokbokki for the first time in a while, so I stopped by~ It’s a place where you can have not only tteokbokki, but also a variety of Korean snack foods such as sundae, fried snacks, and mini gimbap!

Here’s the exterior of Hyeonseonine at Yeouido IFC Mall. It felt cleaner and more polished than a typical Korean snack shop~ Since it’s inside IFC Mall, it also looked like a nice place for a quick meal while shopping.

Korean snack menu choices, from individual dishes to sets

Looking over the menu, there are individual items such as tteokbokki, sundae, and fried snacks, as well as sets that let you eat several things together! They also have instant tteokbokki, so it seems like you can order according to your group size or preferences~

The fridge also has Coolpis, a sweet yogurt drink, and sodas that go nicely with spicy tteokbokki. When tteokbokki is spicy, you really can’t leave out Coolpis, haha.

There is a self-service bar on one side of the shop. You can freely take what you need, including danmuji (pickled yellow radish) and small plates. Everything was neatly arranged, so it was easy to use~

Utensils such as spoons, chopsticks, and paper cups are also organized on one side. Overall, the shop felt very clean and well maintained!

Finally, our order came out! It included tteokbokki, assorted fried snacks, sundae, mini gimbap, and even fish-cake broth. I liked being able to try a little of several different Korean snack foods together~

Wheat-rice-cake tteokbokki soaked in spicy-sweet sauce

I tried the tteokbokki first. The rice cakes were chewy wheat rice cakes, and the sauce was both spicy and sweet! The seasoning had soaked into the rice cakes well, making it the kind of flavor you keep reaching for~

🌟🌟 The most important part—the taste? It was tteokbokki with sweetness, but a clearly noticeable level of spice too.

If you prefer tteokbokki with a certain amount of heat rather than something overly mild, I think it would suit you well~

Chewy sundae and tender liver

I ordered the sundae with assorted offal. The sundae was pleasantly chewy without being too soft! Whenever I eat tteokbokki at a Korean snack shop, I end up ordering sundae too, and they really do go well together, haha. I also tried the liver among the offal. Liver can sometimes be very dry, but this was softer and nuttier than I expected~

Mini gimbap to have between spicy bites

Next was the mini gimbap. They were an easy one-bite size, so they were convenient to eat with the tteokbokki! When the tteokbokki starts to feel a little spicy, having a piece of gimbap helps tone down the heat a bit~

The set also included fried sweet potato. It was classic sweet-potato tempura: crisp outside, soft inside, with that sweet sweet-potato flavor~ Its sweetness paired nicely with the spicy tteokbokki.

This is fried squid. There was a fairly thick piece of squid inside the batter, so it had a nice bite!

The liver was also nice dipped in the broth once.

Final thoughts on Hyeonseonine at IFC Mall

🌟🌟 To sum up Hyeonseonine at IFC Mall? It’s a place where you can have staple Korean snack foods—tteokbokki, sundae, fried snacks, and gimbap—all at once in a clean setting. In particular, I personally liked that the tteokbokki had a definite spicy kick rather than being simply sweet! Ordering a set was also nice because it let us try small portions of several kinds~

If you want tteokbokki, a quick Korean snack meal, or several different Korean snack dishes together at Yeouido IFC Mall, I think it would be worth a visit.
