I was out at the Uiwang Premium Outlet with my wife when I started craving coffee, so I looked around for a café. Turns out Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters had a branch there. It seems to have opened recently, but the brand has been expanding fast lately so I couldn't just walk past it. Being inside the outlet made it easy to duck into mid-shopping, and since dogs are allowed, it looked like a comfortable option for anyone visiting with a pet too.

Where is the café inside Lotte Premium Outlet Uiwang? A standalone building on the plaza hill

Among the cafés at Uiwang Premium Outlet, Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters occupies its own standalone building, so some people might get a little confused about where exactly it is.

If you walk up the hill past the playground by the plaza, you'll see the shop sharing signage space with Outback and Shake Shack.

I'd only been to the Suwon location before, so I was surprised how different the vibe was here — the space was decorated to fit right in with the mall.

With two floors in use, seating felt fairly generous, and since the building sits on a hill, it felt more like stepping outside for a getaway than being inside a mall.

The building itself is mostly hidden behind trees and plants, and with the floor-to-ceiling windows, the sense of openness was really impressive.

The merch shelf: Lego sets, t-shirts, hats and mugs

These days, brands known for their coffee seem to put just as much effort into their MD (branded merchandise) products as into drinks and desserts.

From Lego to t-shirts, pencils, pens, erasers, stickers, and mugs, they were selling a wide range of items that could represent Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters.

These weren't just logo slapped on items — the overall craftsmanship seemed considered, and I spent a good while debating whether to buy a mug.

I especially liked the hat, which had a nice worn-in, vintage color palette — I decided I'd definitely buy one next time. I'd love to see a black version too.

If you like cute little items, or brands that aren't as widely used, I think the MD goods here would be pretty satisfying.

The desserts at Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters

There were cookies and cakes for dessert, plus the fruit sando (fruit sandwich) that's been popping up everywhere lately — I wanted to try it.

I had dinner plans with my parents that evening so I skipped dessert this time, but I remember it being pretty delicious when I had it at the Suwon location before.

Jeong Jiyoung Coffee Roasters is known as a brand that focuses more on coffee and drinks than dessert, using professionally selected beans.

Among its drinks, the most famous is the coconut coffee, which even has a patent — a menu item hard to find anywhere but here.

Normally I stick to basic coffees like americano or café latte and wouldn't usually branch out, but curiosity got the better of me and I ordered it.

How do the real choco latte and coconut coffee taste?

To share with my wife, we ordered one real choco latte and one signature coconut coffee.

They gave us a free sticker with a playful line about not being able to work without coffee — must be an opening promotion. Since the flagship is in Suwon, the design featured King Jeongjo as the mascot.

Personally, whichever café I go to, I tend to judge the place by its choco drinks. What kind of chocolate they use tells you a lot about their skill.

The chocolate itself was rich and sweet, confirming this place really knows what it's doing. Coffee tastes pretty similar wherever you go these days — it's the side menu that reveals the real quality.

The coconut coffee has a thick coconut foam on top, similar texture to a caramel latte, but it's smoother than a regular latte and less sweet than caramel — it hits exactly the right spot in between.

I worried a little that the coconut flavor might overwhelm the coffee, but it didn't at all — if anything, the aroma lifted the overall taste up a notch.

The location was convenient to stop by mid-shopping, and the spacious layout made it easy to relax. The coconut coffee was smoother and more balanced in aroma than I expected, so I'll definitely order it again next time. If you find yourself at Uiwang Premium Outlet, it's worth a visit.
