Romaok Dogok: address, hours and the room itself

Romaok Dogok in Yangjae is a Western-style restaurant with great atmosphere, located near Yangjae Station.

If you're looking for a place near Yangjae Station for a slightly special meal, the vibe here fits perfectly.

Apparently the dishes are crafted by a chef who trained at a Michelin two-star restaurant in Italy?!

Maybe that's why it felt a bit more refined than a typical Western restaurant! Knowing it's a Blue Ribbon spot in Yangjae already raised my expectations before we even arrived, and after the first bite I understood exactly why it earned that rating!!!! (Seriously, it's so good... I hope everyone gets to try it at least once...)
The overall atmosphere was calm, so it seemed like it would suit dates or anniversary dinners well too!
The seats also have different vibes depending on where you sit, and each has its own charm! If you have a preferred spot, it's a good idea to check availability when making your reservation~
Romaok Dogok menu: pastas and two-course set options
Since we came specifically for pasta near Yangjae Station, we picked through the menu one dish at a time~ We ordered the kelp-aged flounder carpaccio and the abalone gonad pasta. On top of that we also got the Hanwoo ragu fresh pasta lasagna roll and two iced Americanos.

At Romaok Dogok, a go-to spot for pasta near Yangjae Station, they also sell a pasta & steak set and a pasta & risotto set!

They also carry wines to enjoy alongside the Romaok Dogok menu, so it's worth checking out the wine list too!

Beyond the pasta menu near Yangjae Station, there's a variety of dishes that pair well with wine. If you visit Romaok Dogok in Yangjae, I'd recommend sharing several dishes rather than sticking to just one pasta!
The handmade bread that shows why Romaok Dogok has a Blue Ribbon
If you're looking for a Blue Ribbon restaurant in Yangjae, I'd like to recommend Romaok Dogok.

It's not just about the reputation — the very first pre-meal bread they served was seriously delicious. Even after time passed, the bread didn't get hard at all and stayed soft!
This is the cross-section of Romaok Dogok's handmade pre-meal bread!

Dipping it in this oil was honestly heavenly. I found the reason it's called a Blue Ribbon restaurant in Yangjae right from the pre-meal bread...!
How does the kelp-aged flounder carpaccio taste?
The first thing we ate at this restaurant near Yangjae Station was the kelp-aged flounder carpaccio.

Because the flounder is aged with kelp, it had a bit more umami than regular raw flounder!
The clean flavor of the flounder combined with the subtle depth from aging made it a great first dish~~ It's made up of flounder, Ibruga caviar, wasabi cream, and orange & grapefruit segments! This sauce was honestly amazing!!! It went so well with the flounder. Even my mom, who usually goes for the classic chogochujang (spicy vinegar sauce) style, raved about it!
Abalone gonad pasta: the sauce and the linguine texture

Of all the pasta dishes near Yangjae Station, the abalone gonad pasta was personally the one I was most curious about! So that's what we ordered~
The distinctive savoriness of abalone gonad blended naturally into the pasta, giving it a richer flavor than I expected! The main ingredients are kelp-steamed abalone, garlic scapes, chorizo, gonad sauce, and linguine!

Even so, it wasn't too heavy, and the linguine held its texture well without getting soggy, so it was even more savory and satisfying to eat! It was delicious as expected, haha.

This abalone gonad pasta comes with pickles too! The tangy pickles cleanse the palate, and the pasta got even more delicious as I kept eating~
The most memorable dish: Hanwoo ragu fresh-pasta lasagna roll

If I had to pick just one pasta from Romaok Dogok in Yangjae, this is the dish that stayed with me!

The Hanwoo ragu fresh pasta lasagna roll! Because it uses fresh pasta, the texture was soft, and the rich flavor of the Hanwoo (Korean beef) ragu was excellent too.
The tomato-based ragu paired well with the fresh pasta, making for a hearty, satisfying dish~

Fitting for a Blue Ribbon-rated restaurant in Yangjae, I loved that every dish had its own slightly different charm!

During the meal, we each ordered an iced Americano to drink alongside. The coffee was nutty and clean without any bitterness — really good!
