Where is Something About Coffee? The alley behind the Gangnam Station CGV
Something About Coffee is a three-floor café at 30 Gangnam-daero 102-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in the alley behind the Gangnam Station CGV. Both Sinnonhyeon and Gangnam stations are walkable.
I hadn't been to Gangnam in a while, and it felt like a waste to just go straight home, so I decided to grab a nice coffee and rest for a bit. While looking for cafés near Gangnam Station, I found Something About Coffee — it looked pretty big and had a good variety of desserts, so I went in. I went for coffee and ended up enjoying some really good desserts too!!!
It's a sleek, large white-toned café spread across 1st to 3rd floors.
What are the seats like at Something About Coffee on a weekend afternoon?
There were seriously so many people inside Something About Coffee. Lots of customers in their 20s especially, haha. Definitely lives up to being a Gangnam Station hotspot!
There's also outdoor seating on the 2nd floor.
The stylish interior made it fun to wander around and look at every corner.
Thanks to the high ceilings and big windows, it didn't feel too cramped even with so many people around.
The tables and chairs come in various shapes, so whether you're visiting alone, with friends, or with a partner, it's easy to pick a spot you like, haha.

It's a pretty big space, but it's packed with people, haha.
There's even a terrace seating area. On a nice day, enjoying a coffee outside here would be really lovely.
Bread and cake display at the 2nd-floor counter
In front of the 2nd floor counter at Something About Coffee, there were so, so many kinds of bread. Every single one looked delicious, so I spent a long time deciding what to pick, haha.
Alongside the bread, there was also a wide variety of cakes, making it a great spot to pair dessert with coffee.

Since it had been a while since I'd been to this hotspot café near Gangnam Station, I made a point of ordering something other than an iced americano.
Hojicha milk tea, 8,500 won
First off, the hojicha milk tea had a pretty unique look, haha. Especially the choux pastry sitting on top — you don't usually see that on a milk tea, so it really caught my eye.
I ate the choux first, haha. It's sweet. The toasty, slightly bitter flavor of the hojicha paired really well with the sweet, soft cream inside the choux!!
The aftertaste was clean, so it was unique but kept me coming back for more. Recommend! Haha.
Black sesame latte, 7,800 won — not sweet at all
The black sesame latte!! Just looking at it feels healthy, haha. Usually black sesame lattes end up being a bit too sweet, which was often disappointing, but this one wasn't sweet at all. The balance between nutty and bitter was clean, so I drank it down to the last sip without any heaviness!!
If you usually enjoy tea or bitter drinks, or you're tired of overly sweet beauty-style drinks, this is a flavor you'll like, haha.
Egg cookie, 5,900 won
The egg on top of the egg cookie was just too good.
The more I chewed, the more the nutty richness of the egg yolk filled my mouth, blending with the buttery flavor — I couldn't stop eating it.
Eating it with the hojicha made the nutty flavor of the egg pop even more, so it tasted even better together.
Fresh blueberry cheesecake, 8,800 won
The fresh blueberry cheesecake looked amazing right from the start. With blueberries piled on top, it looked so fresh and juicy just from the sight of it...
Because it uses fresh blueberries, they cut through what could otherwise be a heavy, rich cheese flavor really cleanly — that's the real charm.
It's a dessert you enjoy with your eyes first and then twice over with your mouth, so I really enjoyed it together with the drinks.

Full-flavored hojicha milk tea and black sesame latte, plus a cute egg cookie and a mood-lifting fresh blueberry cheesecake! I spent a relaxing time with my husband enjoying both coffee and dessert.
