Gangnam ramen restaurant with cheese and mentaiko tsukune: Oreno Ramen

In short

Oreno Ramen Gangnam is a chicken-broth (tori paitan) ramen restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Tteokdorijang building, a 3-minute walk from Exit 11 of Gangnam Station in Seoul. The writer ordered tori paitan and kara paitan ramen at 13,000 won each plus assorted tsukune (chicken meatball skewers) for 5,000 won to try both the cheese and the mentaiko (salted pollack roe) version, then poured a free bowl of rice into the leftover broth at the end. With rich chicken broth that carries no gamy smell and free refills on noodles, broth and rice, Oreno Ramen Gangnam is a safe pick for both solo diners and groups.

I visited Oreno Ramen Gangnam, a place people who normally can't handle the gamy pork or greasy smell typical of Japanese-style ramen end up calling their all-time favorite ramen!

Living up to its Michelin Bib Gourmand reputation, the broth was truly rich and deep, yet completely free of any gamy smell — clean and nutty enough that I finished the whole bowl. I'm sharing everything from weekend wait times to an honest review of the two signature ramen menus (tori paitan, kara paitan) and free-refill tips 🍜

Key points at a glance

  • Zero gamy smell & ultimate nuttiness — rich broth good enough to make even people who usually can't eat ramen finish their bowl happily
  • Refill service — free refills on noodles, broth, and rice after finishing your ramen!
  • Spacious, comfortable interior and attentive, friendly staff

How to find Oreno Ramen Gangnam, and how long is the weekend wait?

Oreno Ramen Gangnam is on the 2nd floor of the Tteokdorijang building, a 3-minute walk from Exit 11 of Gangnam Station (Line 2 / Sinbundang Line)! It's open daily from 11 AM to 8:30 PM with no break time, so it's easy to drop by anytime ✨

We visited on a Saturday. Right around 11:20 AM the place filled up completely and a wait line started forming! But since the turnover is fast and the ramen comes out in just 3-4 minutes, the line moved through quickly.

Oreno Ramen menu and prices

Oreno Ramen has narrowed its menu down and focuses completely on chicken broth (tori paitan) 🍜

  • Tori paitan ramen: ₩13,000 (Oreno Ramen's signature flagship menu!)
  • Kara paitan ramen: ₩13,000 (a spicy version of tori paitan)
  • Assorted tsukune: ₩5,000

Both ramen types are the same price at ₩13,000, so you just choose between mild (tori) or spicy (kara) depending on your preference.

Honest review of tori paitan, kara paitan and assorted tsukune

🎁 Today's order • Tori paitan ramen ₩13,000 • Kara paitan ramen ₩13,000 • Assorted tsukune ₩5,000

Today we ordered both of Oreno Ramen's main ramen types plus the assorted tsukune and shared everything! It arrived as a full spread with picture-perfect bowls topped with rich, nutty foam ✨

Two ramen bowls and assorted tsukune served together

Kara paitan ramen (13,000 won): how spicy is it?

A spicy ramen where the nutty richness of the chicken broth meets a sharp, spicy chili paste 🌶️ It wasn't aggressively spicy — instead it brought out the broth's rich flavor while cleaning up the finish, which made it a refreshing taste well-suited to Korean palates that don't love greasy food!

There's thick-cut chicken breast in it too.

The noodles were also so springy and delicious that they just kept sliding in.

Tori paitan ramen (13,000 won): the creamy chicken broth

This is a rich, milky-white ramen made from slow-simmered chicken, like Oreno Ramen's signature version of samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup). The deep flavor fills your mouth completely, with absolutely no trace of the usual gamy smell — the creamy, pale broth is a work of art..✨

The moist sous-vide chicken breast topping, the crunchy wood ear mushroom, and the salty soft-boiled egg all came together perfectly. Highly recommend.

A happy, piping-hot bite 🥺

Assorted tsukune (5,000 won): cheese and mentaiko, two ways

I ordered this side of assorted tsukune to eat alongside the ramen! It comes out grilled to a golden brown, crispy on the outside and moist and tender with juice on the inside.

one piled high with mentaiko — two flavors! The nutty chicken flavor comes through so directly, and it was the best kind of side dish to pair with the rich ramen broth.

Springy soft-boiled egg on the ramen

Also enjoyed the springy soft-boiled egg. You all know you're supposed to pop it and eat it with the broth, right.. it's truly a special treat.

Free noodle, broth and rice refills (★highly recommended)

After finishing your ramen, you can request free refills of noodles and broth, and even a free bowl of rice!

Free refill rice added to the leftover ramen broth

The broth was so rich and full-bodied that mixing rice into the leftover broth was an absolute treat. Even big eaters can eat until they're completely full here — top-tier service.

Final verdict on Oreno Ramen Gangnam

Oreno Ramen Gangnam nailed everything: deep, rich chicken broth with no gamy smell, tender sous-vide chicken breast, the nutty deliciousness of the special tsukune, and free refills on noodles, broth, and rice — it was the number one ramen restaurant near Gangnam Station 👍 If you want properly high-quality ramen near Gangnam Station or a can't-go-wrong restaurant, I highly recommend Oreno Ramen Gangnam! Another delicious meal today :)
