What kind of show is Suspicious PT Shop, the Hyehwa date-night play?

Suspicious PT Shop is an adults-only (19+) play running at Nine Theater near Hyehwa Station on Daehak-ro. Just the name gives off a suggestive vibe, right?

The content is fully 19+, so it seemed better suited to couples together for over a year than to fresh, blushing pairs. If you're just starting to date or under 100 days in, it might get awkward... haha.

Inside Nine Theater and the basement box office

I got a little lost at first since it's on the basement level, but the signage was big enough that I found it easily.

Right from the entrance, it already felt hot.

This seemed to be the actors appearing in the show!

When I suggested we watch this play, my partner said they'd seen something similar. Turns out it was Suspicious Hair Salon! They said that one was really fun too, so they remembered it. It was surprising they still remembered it three years later, and watching the follow-up together made it even better, haha.

Walking further in, there's the box office. It was convenient with a water dispenser, restroom, and a small rest area. We picked up our tickets 40 minutes early, so we went straight in with tickets in hand!

Ticket prices and seats: A row or B row at Nine Theater?

Tickets for Suspicious PT Shop started at ₩99,000 for A row, going down to ₩69,000 for general seats. A row is really right up close, so I imagine you'd see absolutely everything...! If you're planning to go, I'd recommend booking quickly and grabbing a middle seat in A row.

We had seats B row 2 and 3. Once we got inside, I understood why they're called special seats haha! I'll explain more when I get to the review!

True to the PT shop theme, there was actual gym equipment inside the theater. Once I saw how it got used, everything felt wild haha.

Show review: winning a prize through audience participation

Wow... it was seriously intense! No photos were allowed during the performance, so I don't have any, but it was truly something.

Before it started, an actor came out to warm up the crowd, and maybe because we were in the front row, or maybe because we were holding hands as a couple, we got asked a question and won a prize haha. We got an adult product... haha. Watching around, other people got things like lubricant, or a pen shaped like genitals...! Getting a gift at the show we came to watch felt great! Totally felt like we got our money's worth on the ticket...!

We also got a coupon for a discount on our next visit! You can probably guess what the stuff behind it is... haha.

Verdict: which couples should see Suspicious PT Shop?

I really think this is best with a partner you've been with for over 100 days! If you're a long-distance couple who doesn't see each other often, even 200 days... or maybe even a year together might still feel a bit awkward. It's not just descriptive dialogue, it's rawer than I expected, which surprised me a little, but I'd definitely watch it again!! And next time, I'll for sure... for sure!!! be sitting in the special A or B row seats!

The actors had great chemistry, so we laughed nonstop. By the end my cheeks actually hurt from smiling lol. There are two actors per role, so it seems like each show is a little different. If you have a favorite actor, look them up before you go! It's hilarious right through to the ending, so I highly recommend it!
