Photo from visiting Hero Board Game Cafe Daehangno Branch

This time I visited a place I'd highly recommend as a thing to do in Daehangno!👍🏻 Hero Board Game Cafe Daehangno Branch.

Space near the board game café entrance

If you've been to a few board game cafés before, you know the most important things are how many games they have and what the environment is like! ✌🏻 They recommend games based on your group size and even have new arrivals, so anyone who loves board games can't skip this place! haha

All the private rooms are comfortable and spacious, so even after playing for a long time it doesn't feel cramped and you lose track of time!! haha The group room is near the counter, but the 2-4 person rooms on this side were kept neat and clean, which I loved.

What I especially liked was the kiosk in every room! You can order food right there, and even watch videos of game recommendations or how to play — it was genuinely convenient! There were drink holders at every seat plus charging adapters, so no worrying about your phone battery either haha.

The bathroom was clean too, with detailed signs posted — genuinely convenient, I have to say 👍🏻

So how many games are there? Sorted alphabetically

Hero Board Game Cafe in Daehangno, Hyehwa really has a ton of games! Seriously next level...🫰🏻 Each shelf line is labeled with the first letters of the names so you can find what you want right away, and there are multiple copies of the same games, so even when it's crowded you don't have to wait ✅

Self-bar with blankets, squeaky hammers, and penalty games

The self-bar has extra game pieces, blankets, mats and more, so you can grab as much as you need. There's also stuff for friend games like bingo and initial-consonant quizzes, plus squeaky hammers hahaha — if a big group comes it'd be so much fun. For penalty games there are easy, simple ones like the crocodile game and the 'Mr. Barrel' popping game, perfect for a betting game!

There's also billiards? Pool, so there's a scoreboard notice set up in the middle and gloves prepared too haha. I've never actually played this kind of thing but haha it looked like it'd be fun 👍🏻

Group seating and weekday unlimited use

They also have group seating, so if a bunch of people come it'd be such a blast🤤 betting on games and treating the loser to food, that sounds so fun haha. On weekdays it's ₩5,000 for unlimited use, so if you eat first and come play, you can still get dessert and coffee too — really great for when you can't decide what to do on a date these days! 👍🏻

Menu from snacks to bingsu

Everyone knows board game café food is tasty, right? They've got snack food, rice dishes, bingsu (shaved ice dessert), coffee — every category you could want, so next time I'm ordering ramen and coffee while I play haha. As a bingsu spot especially, they have so many kinds of bingsu I bet it gets crazy busy in summer... hahaha

What I ordered was peach oolong tea and zero-sugar iced tea! Since zero-sugar drinks are trending these days, even the iced tea is zero-sugar haha. It was sweet and just right to sip between rounds of games! 👍🏻

The arcade machine by the counter, nostalgic Tekken

There's an arcade machine right by the counter!! hahaha nostalgic Tekken(?) and a good variety of other games too, I loved it hahaha. Next time I'll have to try Bubble Bobble(?) too 🙏🏻

The game return counter is right here!! Once you're done enjoying a game, tidy it up and leave it here, and the staff will put it back where it belongs 🙏🏻

The most fun game: Bruma Marble

The most fun(?) was Bruma Marble — I love that primal, cutthroat money-grabbing kind of game haha, it was seriously so fun!! Each game comes with printed instructions inside, which was really convenient haha.

How do you use the Nintendo?

I lost all track of time with the Nintendo!!! haha You can use the Nintendo Switch by leaving your ID or a card. There are tons of titles — Mario Kart, Cooking Mama, Pico Park, Rhythm Heaven and more — and before I knew it hours had gone by hahaha, I ended up playing about 3 games before leaving!!!

I really, truly recommend this Daehangno board game café in Hyehwa for a date or a hangout with friends! 👍🏻🥺✨
