Yeouido Korean snack restaurant spicy combo with beer: Hyeonseonine

I had something to do near IFC Mall and stopped by because I was craving something spicy so badly! I went to try Hyeonseonine Tteokbokki, a popular tteokbokki spot in Yeouido. For some reason, I couldn’t stop thinking about spicy food that day, and since Hyeonseonine happened to be there, it was just perfect.

I think it’d be nice to check out the overall atmosphere and feel once more in the video!

How to get to Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is connected to the subway exit. Come out through Exit 3 and ride the moving walkway straight ahead~ You’ll find Hyeonseonine right before the Butter Shop!

A cozy, wood-toned restaurant atmosphere

The wood-toned interior really stands out throughout the restaurant.

And Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch had an especially cozy~ overall feel. It wasn’t a predictable old-school Korean snack place, though—just genuinely cozy, exactly as the word suggests, haha.

Oh, and one more thing! They give you one of three menu items if you leave a review, so joining in and eating a little more economically might be a handy tip✨️

Each table had an induction burner so you can eat made-to-order tteokbokki. The tables weren’t small either, so I was happy that there seemed to be plenty of room left even after putting down other dishes.

This is the overall look. The white-and-wood interior generally gives a clean impression, but the restaurant itself was genuinely clean too, haha.

There was also a self-service bar, which was convenient because I didn’t have to ask the staff for things I needed. As an extreme introvert, I’m someone who finds self-service more comfortable than communicating with staff,,,, that person is me,,?

The generous spicy Hyeonseoni Combo Set

I ordered and waited patiently.

The combo set includes tteokbokki, fried snacks, sundae (Korean blood sausage), and even gimbap (seaweed rice roll). Honestly, I underestimated it a little... (?) But the portion was absolutely enormous.....

The tteokbokki had chewy wheat rice cakes, the gimbap was generously filled, and the sundae came with offal too, so I enjoyed it all so much. Drinks were included as well, thankfully helping tame the spice.

Look at that springy tteokbokki,,, I want it again already,,, Everything else was delicious too, but true to a great tteokbokki place, the tteokbokki was especially chewy and so good.

I ordered cold beer too. You do know that beer with tteokbokki is a special treat, right,,!!! Eating beer and tteokbokki together is pure heaven! Everyone, make a note of it📝

One unfortunate thing was that there was so much food that I left a little sundae behind T_T The portion was seriously huge. Still, I ate really well and enjoyed it.
