Since so many people are always passing through the terminal, it's surprisingly hard to find somewhere that's both quick and filling. But this place hit exactly that need, haha. Let me show you my honest review.

Where is Bapjangin Express Bus Terminal Branch, and what are the hours?

Bapjangin Express Bus Terminal Branch is on the basement floor of Express Bus Terminal Station, at 194 Sinbanpo-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul. It's close if you come out toward Exit 1!

Right from the entrance it feels clean and tidy. Not flashy, but organized just enough to feel comfortable walking in.

Is Bapjangin comfortable for solo diners and groups?

The tables at Bapjangin Express Bus Terminal Branch are spaced generously, so I could eat comfortably without worrying about the next table over. Seeing everyone from solo diners to groups seated around made me think this must be a place local regulars keep coming back to.

On this visit I ordered the two-person Spam set and the egg stew. Honestly I wasn't expecting much from a meal inside the express bus terminal, but when the food arrived I was surprised by how good it looked — neat and appetizing, and I couldn't wait to dig in.

The Spam set's broth was slightly spicy with a savory seasoning base, and it was delicious mixed with rice. The saltiness of the Spam balanced nicely with the sweetness of the vegetables, giving it a clean flavor without being too intense.

As the name suggests, Spam is the star, but it's not just Spam thrown in alone — tofu, zucchini, assorted vegetables, and meat all come together, filling the pot generously.

What surprised me most was how much meat was in there — I kept finding more meat as I ate, haha. Piling meat onto warm rice and scooping up a bite with Spam and tofu together was absolutely the best bite.

For reference, gim jaban (seasoned dried seaweed flakes) is set out on every table, so you can freely add as much as you like to your rice — such a convenient touch.

How was the ttukbaegi egg stew?

You can't skip the egg stew at Bapjangin either. It comes packed in a ttukbaegi (stone bowl), so you can enjoy it piping hot until the very last bite. The texture was soft and fluffy while still firm enough inside, and eating it with rice made the meal feel really filling.

Side dishes and how to eat the gim jaban with rice

Personally, one of my favorite points was the side dish spread. Alongside the main dishes, the side dishes come neatly arranged too — the mu-saengchae (spicy radish salad), seasoned bean sprouts, and kimchi were all tasty. Some diners even mix the stew with mu-saengchae and bean sprouts like bibimbap, which sounded like it would be really delicious!
