Korean restaurant open till 10pm at Express Bus Terminal: Bapjangin
In short
Bapjangin Express Bus Terminal Branch is a Korean restaurant on the B1 floor of Seoul Express Bus Terminal in Seocho, Seoul, open from 10:00 to 22:00. Arriving in Gangnam close to 9pm after a three-night, four-day trip to Yeosu, the writer ordered spicy kimchi stew for 12,000 won and smoky bulgogi for 14,000 won, and the earthenware pot came loaded with tofu, meat and ramen noodles beside char-grilled bulgogi. Bapjangin is where you can still get a hot Korean meal after every other restaurant in the terminal has switched off its lights.

After a 3-night, 4-day trip to Yeosu, we hopped on a premium bus and landed in Gangnam late at night! By the time we arrived near 9pm, we were starving, but no restaurants were open.
The only Korean restaurant still lit up. Great for travelers or anyone shopping the Banpo underground mall at Gangnam Shinsegae Department Store — a late dinner at Bapjangin, the Korean restaurant near Seoul Express Bus Terminal that opens early and closes late.

A Korean restaurant beloved by celebrities too.
Finding a restaurant open late when you're wiped out from traveling isn't easy, but this Express Bus Terminal spot stays open even after every other restaurant here has gone dark! Turns out the shops in the Banpo underground mall close earlier than expected — but Bapjangin opens early, closes late, and keeps prices low without skimping on flavor!

Solo bar seats and the banchan at Bapjangin
Bapjangin Express Bus Terminal Branch has bar table seating for solo diners! Lots of people eat alone here before or after catching a bus, so there are quite a few single seats. Even at this late hour, there were a few other customers besides us!

We ordered the spicy kimchi stew and the smoky bulgogi. Just three side dishes — radish salad, seasoned bean sprouts, and kimchi — but every one of them was so good we asked for refills. The water bottle was super cute too! There's also grilled Spam on the side menu, and it's real Spam, not Richem or luncheon meat imitations!

Even though this wasn't a trip to Europe, it felt exactly like landing back in Korea and craving Korean food right away! Kimchi stew and stir-fried pork after a trip — an unwritten rule, right?

Why the rice arrives in a large bowl: gim flake bibimbap
At Bapjangin, the rice comes in a big bowl. Besides mixing in radish salad and bean sprouts with the stew, every seat also has a container of gim flakes (seasoned seaweed flakes) so you can pile them on with your rice. I'm a gim flake fanatic, and I think I ate a whole tub's worth!

Spicy kimchi stew, 12,000 won
I was going to order the jjaglie but went with kimchi stew instead — it came out completely loaded in a stone pot.

Tofu, meat, and even ramen noodles — a total jackpot of ingredients! Packed with fillings, and the broth itself is spicy and delicious too.

We hadn't even had a drink, but it felt like a proper hangover cure! If you get carsick from a long bus ride, one bowl of this spicy stew calms the queasiness right down... it's basically the Kimite of stews!

Piling the stew's broth and fillings onto the big bowl of rice!

Sprinkle on the gim flakes and it's absolute honey-flavored bliss! It really felt like all my travel fatigue melted away.

Smoky bulgogi, 14,000 won
And the other dish we ordered! Even more delicious than stir-fried pork — bulgogi with a full smoky char. It tastes like it was grilled directly over the flames — the smoky flavor is a work of art!! The meat is tender too, tasting like gochujang bulgogi grilled over charcoal.

It comes with vegetables for wraps too, so we piled lettuce with bean sprouts for delicious lettuce wraps!
