The only day our whole family can eat together is the weekend. So we try to eat something healthy and delicious! To praise ourselves for a hard week and gear up for the Monday ahead, weekend dinners take some thought. So here's our weekend pick — charcoal-grilled duck specialist Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch.

We visited on a Sunday evening at 7pm. It's a 20-minute drive from home, and the sign was so brightly lit it was easy to spot right away.
The lot is huge — no need to worry about parking.

Interior atmosphere and the self-serve lettuce wrap bar
The interior was decorated in the earthy tones of a large ocher room — clean and really spacious.

The self-serve refill corner. Duck really tastes best wrapped in lettuce, so having a self-serve bar like this makes it easy to grab as many wrap greens as you want.
Here's the menu board.

Ordering the fresh charcoal-grilled duck
We ordered the fresh charcoal-grilled duck.

Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch selects only fresh, domestically raised duck, and the color looked great even before cooking. They use charcoal to bring out a deep, nutty flavor while trimming off the fat, keeping the leanness intact — a healthy way to cook duck.
What are the health benefits of duck meat? It's high in unsaturated fatty acids, which help lower cholesterol and support blood circulation, preventing vascular disease. It also helps the body eliminate heavy metals and waste, and is rich in essential amino acids, vitamins and minerals that boost immunity and energy recovery. Essential fatty acids are said to be good for skin and anti-aging too. So let's enjoy something delicious and healthy at the same time.

Alongside the duck, side dishes like seasoned chives, pickled onion, sweet-and-sour radish, and seasoned bean sprouts come as the basic set.

Why even my two sons, who don't usually like duck, ate well
Duck pairs perfectly with chives, garlic, and wrap greens — a great match both nutritionally and taste-wise. Thumbs up!👍
My husband, who said he was already full from a soccer club dinner and couldn't eat much, and my two sons, who don't especially like duck, both took a bite and ended up eating a lot — it made my heart swell with pride. There's an old saying that duck is so good for you that you should even snatch it off someone else's plate, so it would've been a shame if the boys had just picked at it. The charcoal at Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch really tamed the duck's usual gamey smell, leaving it clean and nutty — impossible not to love.

Busan milmyeon is perfect for dessert
Duck alone lacks a bit of freshness, right? We ordered busan milmyeon (cold wheat noodle soup), and it exceeded expectations. Refreshing and cool, it was just right as a follow-up dish.

Free duck mung bean porridge and charcoal-roasted sweet potato
Once we finished the meat, we ordered duck mung bean porridge via the tablet order system. It's not only for tables that ordered baeksuk (whole boiled duck) — they generously serve it free for everyone, one bowl per person.

After grilling and eating our fill of duck, a foil-wrapped roasted sweet potato, cooked over the charcoal, was waiting as dessert. Why is it so delicious? We blew on it and ate it piece by piece, and before our stomachs burst, we figured it was time to head home.
A few other things worth knowing

There are separate men's and women's restrooms indoors.

A coffee and ice cream freezer. The bead ice cream is sold for ₩3,000.

That honey sweet potato we ate earlier is also sold at 10kg for ₩45,000.

There's also a waiting area and a claw crane machine.
Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch's signature menu — charcoal-grilled duck, smoked duck, and duck baeksuk — is healthy and nutritious, making it suitable for family meals, dinners with parents, staff get-togethers, or gatherings with friends. Do stop by for the healthy and delicious charcoal-grilled duck at Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch.♡
