I had some work to do near Sinnonhyeon Station and was looking for a good café to bring my laptop to solo. Then I heard about a place famous as a Sinnonhyeon 24-hour café, so I headed straight to Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon Branch haha.
When I got there, it wasn't just a café that stays open late — the whole way it operates changes depending on the time of day. That was surprisingly interesting, so let me walk you through it!

Café atmosphere (outside / inside)

True to its reputation as a Sinnonhyeon 24-hour café, it runs like a normal staffed café during the day and switches to unmanned 24 Auto Brew mode late at night — the fact that you can use it worry-free even in the middle of the night was the most impressive part haha.

At the entrance there are banners for various drinks and sandwiches and salads!

Once inside, the clean white-and-orange interior really stood out. The whole place was spacious and the seats were well spaced apart, which I loved.

Solo seats and outlets, perfect for laptop work
They had solo seating really well set up for people coming alone, and every seat had its own outlet — a genuinely lovely setup for laptop users.

Just a heads up — solo study seats have a 2-hour time limit!

There was also a separate group seating area good for meetings, and a printer (paid) on site, which felt pretty practical for printing out work or lecture materials on the spot 🖨️
Ordering — choosing from 5 coffee beans

For americano, you can choose from five different beans, which made picking one according to your taste kind of fun. I like a nutty, heavy flavor, so I went with the mocha blend — it had almost no acidity and a comforting chocolatey taste ☕

From sandwiches and salads to cakes and bagels and other bakery items, the range was wide enough that even solo diners could put together a full meal.

Even though I came in the late afternoon, there were still so many types of sandwiches that I spent ages deciding what to get lol.

Ordering is done via kiosk. There are several types of coffee too, so just pick whatever suits your taste.

How was the coffee and the sandwich?

I picked the smoked salmon sandwich along with the mocha blend coffee. The sandwich bread was ciabatta — soft and moist on the outside while still keeping a chewy texture inside. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, the salmon had no fishy taste and was fresh, and the portion was generous.
The mocha blend leans more toward a heavy body and nutty chocolate notes than acidity, so I think it'd suit people who like a smooth coffee.
As a proper Sinnonhyeon 24-hour café with its staffed/unmanned switch, being able to use it any time of day regardless of the hour seems like the biggest advantage haha.

Wrap-up
Cafés around Gangnam Station have always felt crowded and stressful, but Selecto Coffee was so spacious and quiet that it was really nice haha. What stuck with me most was being able to use it any time without worrying about hours, plus the wide range of coffee choices. If you're looking for a Sinnonhyeon 24-hour café, I'd recommend Selecto Coffee Sinnonhyeon Branch 🙌 Next time I'm definitely trying the geisha beans and a different sandwich menu!
