Cheating Plate dessert trio and raspberry latte at Nerdy Blue Burrow

Successfully met up in Seongsu.

We were on a dessert tour again today, meeting up in Seongsu — and Seongsu really does have so many hip, aesthetic cafés!!! Haha, so we went looking for a recommended Seongsu dessert café. It's a hidden Wangsimni Station café and Seongsu food spot: Nerdy Blue Burrow.

To find Nerdy Blue Burrow, come out of Wangsimni Station Exit 9, walk about a block along Wangsimni-ro, then turn into the alley. As soon as you enter the alley, the teal-colored building catches your eye right away, so it was easier to find than I expected 💙

What's the vibe like inside?

The lighting is a bit low overall and the mood is calm, so it felt less like a bustling café and more like a comfortable place to sit and rest — I wanted to come back here on a date!! The interior is cute and decorated with a lot of personality, so it was fun just looking around, and the whole time we sat there it felt like a proper break.

The sofa was super comfortable too 💕💕 We were asking questions even before ordering, and the staff answered everything kindly, so the service was great too 😊

After much deliberation, we ordered the Burrow Signature Set, called the Cheating Plate, from this café near Wangsimni Station 💓💓 It comes with fresh cheesecake, 1 scoop of banana pudding, classic financier, house-baked granola, and 2 cold brews. The cold brew can be swapped for another drink for an extra charge, so we changed ours to Nerdy Berry Happy 🍓

The Cheating Plate is a set that lets you taste a variety of the desserts available at Nerdy Blue Burrow all at once.

It also comes with 2 drinks included, which made it feel like a pretty reasonable set for anyone who wants to try a little of several desserts. I'd recommend it to anyone who has trouble deciding 👍👍

There was a bed of nuts on the plate with all three desserts arranged on top. Ooh... visuals: pass 💓

Banana pudding

The banana pudding at this Wangsimni Station café was sweet and smooth, with a subtle banana aroma. In between bites there was a soft bread- and cookie-like texture, which made it more fun than just eating plain cream.

Classic financier

The outside of the financier was really crispy. The first thing you notice with each bite is the crunchy texture, and the inside has a nutty flavor, making it perfect to eat alongside a drink.

Fresh cheesecake

The fresh cheesecake was the most memorable! It's a Basque cheesecake topped with cream cheese, and the cream on top was really smooth. The rich cheese flavor of the Basque cheesecake itself blended with the soft cream cheese, giving the whole thing an extremely smooth texture.

How should I put it — it kind of melts in your mouth as you eat it? The cheese flavor was fairly strong too, so anyone who likes cheesecake would probably really enjoy it 🧀

Nerdy Berry Happy, our choice instead of cold brew

The drink we swapped in for cold brew was Nerdy Berry Happy!! It's a raspberry latte made by mixing milk with raspberry syrup — you don't often see drinks made with raspberry syrup, so I was curious and ordered it. It had that distinctive tangy raspberry aroma, giving it a clearly different feel from a regular latte, and it felt like a bit of a special menu item you could only get here, which made me like it even more 🍓
