A neat interior in warm wood tones
The interior is so cleanly done in warm wood tones, with comfortable stainless-steel tables, that it hardly feels like a sashimi restaurant!!! It is great for couples, family meals, or company dinners alike 👍🏻👍🏻

🧾 What we ordered ▪️ Seasonal assorted sashimi (medium) ▪️ Spicy fish-bone stew

Side dishes that are perfect for wrapping with sashimi
After ordering, the neatly arranged side dishes arrived~ From seaweed soup with a wonderfully hot, deep broth to seasoned seaweed stems that whet the appetite, rich and soft corn salad, edamame, garlic, and white kimchi, it was a perfect spread for pairing and wrapping with sashimi.. 🖤🖤

The corn salad and edamame especially were so moreish... I kept going back for them again and again!! haha..

Seasonal assorted sashimi on chilled stone
Seasonal assorted sashimi (medium)
Our main dish, the assorted sashimi, arrived!!! We chose the seasonal assorted sashimi because we wanted to try a variety, haha. Each piece was carefully set atop a chilled stone pillar, so it stayed fresh and delightfully springy right through the meal, haha. Thick, glossy slices of flatfish, salmon, mullet, and more 🖤..

Along with cho-gochujang (sweet vinegared chili sauce) and soy sauce, three more sauces came for pairing! The makjang, a savory soybean-chili paste loaded with garlic and Cheongyang chili peppers, was especially sooo good!!

Everyone, say ahhh—here comes the sashimi.. The more you chew, the nuttier and chewier it gets! Pick up a thick slice with a little wasabi, then dip it in white kimchi or makjang, and the rich oiliness and savory flavor fill your mouth.. ><

Spicy fish-bone stew with a rich, deep broth
The perfect finish to sashimi is of course maeuntang (spicy fish stew)! This bubbling stew was generously filled with crown daisy, enoki mushrooms, and bean sprouts, making it wonderfully refreshing and spicy!!! There was quite a lot of meat still on the bones too, haha. Its spicy, deep broth makes it ideal with soju, and it was the perfect finale that had us finishing a whole bowl of rice in no time,,🤤
From thick aged sashimi bursting with freshness and beautiful chilled-stone plating to the generous event benefits!!! The staff were also incredibly kind, making Eochongye 1beonji near Hwagok Station even more satisfying. If you are looking for a great-value sashimi restaurant in Hwagok-dong, or somewhere to enjoy soju with spicy fish stew, I really recommend stopping by ❤️
