Hanam Misa ramen restaurant with refillable takanazuke: Menji

In short

Menji Hanam Misa Branch is a chicken-broth ramen restaurant near Misagangbyeon-bukro in Hanam, Gyeonggi. Two diners ordered the handmade pork loin cutlet with mini ramen set and the ramen-and-mini-rice combo, both with ttangcho tori paitan ramen, and refilled the takanazuke (pickled mustard leaf and radish) side dish several times. Menji Hanam Misa Branch tops up the broth for free, and the handmade pork cutlet, more than the ramen, was the dish that stayed with them.

We went to Hanam to shop for camping gear and, while debating lunch, ended up at Menji Hanam Misa Branch 😚 apparently it's already a well-known ramen spot among Hanam locals.

We'd heard the ramen was great, but honestly — the cutlet stole the show that day 😋 It'd been a while since I had such a satisfying meal!

Where is Menji Hanam Misa Branch, and is there parking?

Menji sits in Hanam Misa. Even a bit past lunchtime, customers kept streaming in — I could see why it's popular!

Parking was easy too, which made it convenient to visit, and we saw everyone from solo diners to families eating there.

What is the restaurant like inside?

Inside, Menji Hanam Misa Branch felt like a Japanese ramen shop — clean and comfortable. It was bigger than expected so it never felt cramped, and the tables were spaced well enough to eat comfortably.

Good for solo dining, and easy-going enough for friends or family too, haha.

Choosing the menu: sets beat a single bowl of ramen

Menji Hanam Misa Branch has more ramen varieties than I expected, plus quite a few cutlet sets and combo menus. Just having ramen alone felt like it'd be a shame, so we ended up ordering set menus!

There were two of us, and it still took forever to pick.

The house side dish — mustard leaf and radish, apparently called takuanzuke. It was so good we refilled it several times.

Sign explaining how to enjoy the cutlet and ramen

There was a guide on how to eat the cutlet and ramen for maximum enjoyment. Honestly I started reading it and then just went 'ah, forget it, let's just eat!' lol.

What we ordered: pork loin cutlet set and ramen & mini rice combo

We ordered the handmade pork loin cutlet + mini ramen set and the ramen & mini rice combo. For both ramen, we chose the ttangcho tori paitan ramen. It was a day we craved spicy broth, so ordering was quick.

With everything coming out at once, the table filled up completely. Ramen, cutlet, and rice all together looked so satisfying 😋 We took photos first and then dug in properly. Looking back, we really nailed this combo 😆

How spicy is the ttangcho tori paitan ramen?

With that red color, I expected the ttangcho tori paitan ramen at Menji Hanam Misa Branch to be scorching, but it wasn't as intense as it looked. It had a sharp, refreshing kick with a strong, rich chicken broth flavor.

The cheongyang chili cut through the richness and left a clean finish. It really suits Korean tastes — highly recommend.

The star of the meal: handmade pork loin cutlet

The cutlet. But honestly, the real star of the day was the cutlet. I didn't expect much since it's a ramen shop's cutlet, but one bite completely changed my mind.

The outside was super crispy and the inside stayed juicy. The meat was nice and thick, great to bite into. The juices were still there and there was no gamey smell at all. You can tell instantly why they call it handmade.

Can you add more broth for free?

Another great thing about Menji: you can add more broth for free. If the soup runs low, you can top it up and enjoy it rich until the last bite~!!

A real win for broth lovers! I think that's why a lot of people recommend it as a hangover-cure ramen 😋

The broth was really rich and nutty. It had that deep flavor of chicken stock simmered for a long time, but never felt heavy or thick. It went great with the noodles, and the more I ate, the more I wanted the broth. I basically drank it all, haha.

Final verdict on Menji Hanam Misa Branch

If you're looking for a good ramen restaurant in Hanam Misa, Menji Hanam Misa Branch comes recommended! The rich chicken-broth ttangcho tori paitan ramen worked great as a hangover cure, and the free broth refills made it even better 😊

And above all, the cutlet was more delicious than expected. We went for ramen and left won over by the cutlet — a solid Hanam Misa find~~
