Flash-frozen samgyeopsal with minari at Dasan Station, Namyangju
In short
Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch (응봉집 다산역점) is a flash-frozen pork belly restaurant near Dasan Station in Namyangju, Gyeonggi. The 1+ grade domestic pork samgyeopsal, flash-frozen at minus 40 degrees on the day of slaughter, is grilled with minari and wrapped in lettuce, then finished off with bibim naengmyeon. Verdict: this isn't a place where the meat is the whole story — the wraps, minari, and noodles round it out nicely.

Lately I keep randomly craving samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly). Once I get fixated on something I have to eat it, so this time I headed to Eungbongjip Dasan Main Branch, a well-known spot near Dasan Station.
They only use quality domestic 1+ grade Korean pork, and apparently flash-freeze it at minus 40 degrees on the day of slaughter to minimize changes to the meat's texture. They also said the julienned radish is cured with Himalayan pink salt, which is supposed to be rich in good-for-you minerals.
To cut to the chase: this isn't a place where you just eat meat and call it a day — it's great for the wrap combo, the minari, and finishing with bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) together. I lost count of how many times I said "ooh, this place is actually good!" while eating. Haha.

First impressions of Eungbongjip near Dasan Station
From the outside, the sign really stood out and the whole exterior looked clean, so my first impression was good. The sign in particular gave off a strong "flash-frozen samgyeopsal specialist" vibe, and I thought, "okay, I'm about to eat some serious meat today!" It's an easy find if you're hunting for good food near Dasan.

What cuts are on the menu
First I looked through the menu — there were set menus plus meat dishes clearly organized on their own. The sets look good for tasting several cuts at once, so first-timers might want to start there.
The meat menu was more varied than I expected, too. Beyond samgyeopsal there were cuts that piqued my curiosity, like kkotmokjeong, seolhasal, deolmisal, and ppulhangjeongsal, so picking was half the fun. I get why so many people come here looking for samgyeopsal near Dasan Station.

Sides and extras
Side dishes are quietly important at a barbecue place. Here they have stew options like cheonggukjang, sundubu, and paengjang jjigae, plus sides like naengmyeon, doenjang sulbap, and fried rice. I liked that the meal doesn't just end with the meat — you can flow straight into a proper meal.
The moment I saw the menu I thought, "ah, I have to get the bibim naengmyeon here." It just wouldn't feel right to skip naengmyeon at a barbecue restaurant!

The extras section was pretty solid too — minari add-on, rice, and even egg dishes, so you can mix and match to your taste. Satisfaction goes way up when you have minari, rice, or noodles alongside the meat rather than just eating meat on its own. These little details matter, and Eungbongjip had that part covered well.

The dining room and the wide grill plate
Once I sat down and looked around, the interior was way cleaner than I expected. Barbecue places are usually a bit dark and bustling, but here white tones mixed with green tile made for a bright, tidy atmosphere overall. My first thought was, "oh, they've really kept this place nice and clean!"
It seemed like a good spot for a family meal, a casual dinner with friends, or a low-key gathering. The atmosphere wasn't too loud or chaotic, so it was easy to chat while eating. That matters more than people think — taste is taste, but if you're comfortable the whole time, you'll want to come back.

And the grill plate on the table! I loved that it was wide enough to fit several pieces of meat at once. A small grill plate slows down the cooking and gets frustrating, but here you could just load it up without any of that hassle. Just looking at the grill got my expectations up. "Alright, here we go!" that kind of feeling. Haha.

The banchan spread
The standard side dishes came out neat and tidy too. Lettuce wraps, kimchi, scallion salad, garlic, chili, ssamjang, wasabi, various sauces, and steamed egg all arrived together, and the table filled up fast. I especially liked that the lettuce wraps came in generous portions — that matters a lot if you're someone who likes wrapping your meat often. Just looking at it, I thought, "ah, now that's a proper spread!"

Flash-frozen samgyeopsal with minari
And finally, the meat arrived! The moment it hit the grill, the whole mood shifted. The flash-frozen samgyeopsal had that distinct thin, wide-grained look, which meant it cooked fast and looked easy to eat. You know that sizzle the meat makes the second it hits the plate? Once I heard that sound, honestly, the meal was basically half over already. Haha.
Watching the fat render as the meat cooked on the grill looked so much more delicious than any photo. Just watching it made me think, "ugh... I want to flip it already." Even before eating, the anticipation was at its peak.
The meat alone was great, but grilling it together with minari made the combo even better. The minari's fragrance cut through the richness of the samgyeopsal and made everything taste fresher. This combo is a definite recommendation! It's not just "the meat tastes good" — it's the kind of flavor that makes you want another bite.

And of course, a proper lettuce wrap! I piled meat, a bit of the seasoned relish, and even some pickles onto a lettuce leaf and ate it in one big bite — that's really the only way to do it right. "Ah! That's the taste!" was exactly the feeling. It's a different kind of fun from eating the meat alone, so anyone who loves wraps will definitely be satisfied.

Finishing with bibim naengmyeon
Once I'd had my fill of meat, bibim naengmyeon immediately came to mind. So I ordered it right away! It looked incredibly appetizing from the start — the seasoning spread over the noodles, topped with egg and meat, looked perfect as a palate cleanser after all that grilled pork. A samgyeopsal restaurant just isn't complete without naengmyeon on the side.

I tried putting a piece of meat on top of the naengmyeon and eating it together — wow, this really worked! The savory richness of the samgyeopsal hits first, then the sweet-and-tangy flavor of the bibim naengmyeon rushes in right after, and it completely resets your palate. Even though I was pretty full, I kept going with this combo. Maybe naengmyeon really is the ultimate finish for a barbecue meal. Haha.
"There's no way this could taste bad…"
That's exactly the thought that hits you the moment you see this combo. This is definitely a mouth-watering shot to drop in the middle of the post.

What stuck with me most to the very end was, unsurprisingly, this meat-plus-naengmyeon combo. Adding a little wasabi on top made it finish even cleaner and less rich. If you're someone who loves finishing off samgyeopsal with naengmyeon, you'll probably be pretty happy with this combo here.
Would I go back?
Overall, Eungbongjip isn't a place where you just eat meat and leave — it's a place where the fun is in everything you pair with it. The clean interior, the wide grill plate, the well-matched side dishes, the minari combo, and finishing with bibim naengmyeon all flowed together nicely.
The moments I remember most were the lettuce wrap bite and putting naengmyeon on top of the meat. I thought, "oh, I want to come back here!" If you're looking for good food near Dasan Station, a solid meat restaurant in Dasan, or a good spot in Dasan New Town and you're craving samgyeopsal, this place is worth a stop. Next time I'd like to try some of the other cuts. Thanks for the meal!
