Nonhyeon Korean BBQ: 3mm flower pork belly with green onion kimchi
In short
Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch is a 24-hour Korean BBQ restaurant a 5-minute walk from Nonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. The writer ordered four servings of flower pork belly at 3mm thickness along with kimchi noodle soup, Spam rice, and zero-sugar cola, refilling the self-serve green onion kimchi twice. Between the choice of belly thickness and the price, it was a genuinely satisfying meal.

Came to Daepae Market, a Korean BBQ spot in Nonhyeon known for thin-sliced pork belly. I get a craving for cold thin-sliced pork belly every once in a while, and it had been a while since I'd had a really good one.
Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch: location and 24-hour hours
It's a 5-minute walk from Nonhyeon Station, so coming by public transit is easiest. And since it runs 24 hours, you can drop by anytime — that's the great thing about Daepae Market!
The hall is pretty spacious, so groups are welcome too

The first thing I noticed coming into this Nonhyeon BBQ spot was how many tables there were and how spacious the place felt — groups could eat here without any trouble.
The tables were also cleaned really thoroughly and the whole restaurant felt tidy, so it seemed like they take hygiene seriously too.
Order from your own seat via kiosk

- 4 servings of flower pork belly
- Cold kimchi noodle soup
- Spam rice
- Zero-sugar cola
This is what we ordered.
You can choose the thickness of the meat
For flower pork belly, there were two thickness options, and you pick whichever type you want. We went with 3mm, which felt thin but not too thin — just the right thickness to chew.
Grab whatever you like from the self-serve bar!

This place is a green onion kimchi paradise
Among all the side dishes, the green onion kimchi was genuinely delicious. I think I refilled it twice. If you come to Daepae Market, this Nonhyeon BBQ favorite, you absolutely have to try the green onion kimchi, haha.
House sauce and ssamjang
Pork belly really is best paired with ssamjang (soybean dipping paste). There's also a house sauce at this Nonhyeon BBQ spot — not spicy, but sweet with just a bit of kick, and it's also delicious.
The Spam rice didn't disappoint, lol

The Spam comes sliced thick, and it's cheap, so if you're at this Nonhyeon BBQ spot, I'd recommend getting Spam rice instead of plain rice.
It comes already grilled, but grilling it once more on the pan and dipping it in ssamjang is a real treat too, haha.
The kimchi noodle soup is delicious

The broth on this is genuinely delicious — cold and perfectly seasoned, and the noodles have a great bouncy, chewy texture.
Thick, great-looking flower pork belly

I think ordering 3mm was the right call. Even though it's thin-sliced pork belly, it had enough thickness to it, and personally I thought it tasted much better this way.
The grill plate was big and clean, which I loved
The grill plate was a good size and spotless. There was zero hassle grilling the meat — in fact, the wide surface made it feel less crowded and much easier to grill on, haha.
You really have to try this

The meat quality was quite good, and being thin-sliced pork belly, it cooks really fast, which is great — and best of all, the texture and taste were both excellent.
It's even better with pepper sprinkled on

I personally almost never use pepper normally, but when I eat thin-sliced pork belly I always sprinkle some on, lol. It's genuinely a flavor bomb.
If you come to Daepae Market, this Nonhyeon BBQ spot, there's pepper at every table, so give it a try. It's seriously a flavor bomb.
Always move cooked meat up top

Since thin-sliced pork belly is so thin, everyone knows what happens if it sits on the grill too long — it gets overcooked and turns into something like a cracker.
To prevent that, there's a spot to place the meat — put it there and it stays warm without overcooking. Always rest your cooked meat there!
We tried a bunch of different combinations

- Alpine cabbage with ssamjang
- Paired with green onion kimchi
These two combinations were the tastiest for me. There are plenty of other ways to eat it too, so if you come to this Nonhyeon BBQ restaurant, try building your own recipe!
Finishing with a zero-sugar cola!

After enjoying the pork belly, finish it off with a zero-sugar cola!
It had been a while since I'd had thin-sliced pork belly, and it lived up to expectations, haha. Great taste, great price — real value-for-money BBQ! If you're craving frozen pork belly or thin-sliced pork belly, definitely come try it. I genuinely enjoyed this meal, haha.
