Busan Korean BBQ near Seomyeon Station: Gilchon Sutbul Galbi
In short
Gilchon Sutbul Galbi Seomyeon Main Branch is a Korean barbecue restaurant near Seomyeon Station in Busanjin, Busan. I tried 500g of hand-sliced fresh pork ribs with barley shrimp soybean paste stew, half-and-half naengmyeon, and toasted bread with cheddar. A great-value choice with a clean atmosphere and an unforgettable rib sandwich combo.

I visited Gilchon Sutbul Galbi Seomyeon Main Branch (길촌숯불갈비 서면본점), a Seomyeon meat spot that hand-slices the amount of meat it will sell each day! 🥩 At the unbelievable price of ₩5,900 per 100g—and with no table setting fee—I was even more satisfied than I expected!

Gilchon Sutbul Galbi near Seomyeon Station: atmosphere and wait

Even though I visited late in the evening, the front of the restaurant was already packed with people waiting 😮 It is right by Exit 5 of Seomyeon Station, so it was easy to find. As soon as I arrived, I registered on-site through Catchtable and took a little walk around Seomyeon while I waited 🚶♀️

With such great access from the station, even first-time visitors should be able to find it without getting lost 📍
I was shocked when I saw the message on the banner at the entrance... 😮 They do not even charge a separate table setting fee at prices like these these days......

Luckily, the line moved quickly, so I got in without waiting long 🚪 Unlike the greasy feel you might expect from a barbecue place, the whole restaurant was clean and pleasant! The seating sections were nicely divided, making it great for a private-feeling meal 🤍

The other side had warm wood interiors, so it felt more like a stylish restaurant than a traditional barbecue place 🎨

True to its reputation as a hot spot known for crazy quality at low prices, every table was full even on a weekday evening 💥
Fresh ribs and 12 complimentary side dishes
Looking at the menu, the meat selection was simply focused on fresh pork ribs and marinated pork ribs 🥩 There was also a great variety of meal dishes and sides to enjoy with them!

Each table has a kiosk, so it was convenient to look at menu photos and order right away 💳

Once seated, 12 types of basic side dishes were set out! 🌾 There were garlic pickles, potato salad, seasoned shredded radish, ssam vegetables (wrap greens), seasoned scallions, and more—such a generous spread! You can refill any sides you run out of at the self-service bar.

This time, I ordered Terra Zero. It was lightly sweet and clean, and went down so smoothly 🍻

- Fresh ribs, 500g
- Barley shrimp soybean paste stew
- Half-and-half naengmyeon (cold noodles)
- Toasted bread and cheddar cheese
- Steamed egg
Since the meat was so reasonably priced, I also ordered plenty of the side dishes I had been curious about 😋

Here came the fresh pork ribs 👏 They said they hand-slice them every day, and the freshness and texture already looked amazing.

They also generously serve sliced potatoes, scallions, and a house sauce to grill alongside the meat 🧄

As the ribs browned on the hot grill, the gentle charcoal aroma properly seeped right into the meat 🤤

A perfectly cooked piece of fresh rib wrapped in crisp ssam vegetables with seasoned scallions and lots of side dishes was perfection......💯

The perfect rib sandwich with toasted bread
While reading the useful tip written on the wall, I spotted an unusual combination and immediately had to try it 💡

Following the tip, I added the toasted bread and cheddar cheese option! 🧀

I put the potato salad from the basic sides, some rib meat, and a little mala sauce on toasted bread. A sandwich at a barbecue restaurant sounded unexpected, but it was an even crazier combo than I imagined.......👍

The barley shrimp soybean paste stew that followed had plenty of barley shrimp in its savory doenjang (soybean paste) base, giving the broth a truly special depth and umami 🦐 It was a real rice thief—you could finish a whole bowl of rice in no time 🍚 The stew was loaded with ingredients too, so I recommend it to round out the meal.
Half-and-half naengmyeon for anyone who is always torn between mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) and bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) 👏

Just because it is inexpensive does not mean it is thrown together—the seasoning and broth were excellent, better than many specialty restaurants. The noodles were thin and wonderfully chewy, and wrapping them around the ribs was a perfect dream pairing 💯

Steamed egg I received through the Naver receipt review event 🎁 It had that fluffy, volcano-like look, with plenty of fragrant sesame seeds and sesame oil—so nutty and delicious!
Private room reservations and Catchtable waiting
On Naver Place, private room reservations were only available for groups of 6 to 12! If you are gathering with a larger group, it seems best to reserve in advance.
For visits with fewer than 6 people, there are no separate reservations, but you can join the waitlist before arriving. It would be a good idea to check the wait on Catchtable before heading over!
Two minutes on foot from Seomyeon Station and parking
It is right near Seomyeon Station, so it was quick to find! It is about a two-minute walk, making it easy for anyone using public transit. Seomyeon and Jeonpo are around the restaurant too, so there are lots of options for a second stop after your meal, which was nice.

The restaurant does not provide its own parking, but Hedoin Park Paid Parking is right next door! It is a tower parking facility, but three towers operate, so there was room to park comfortably 🚗 Please note that some vehicles cannot use tower parking! (₩2,000 per 30 minutes)
