Italian restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul for a rose-accented dinner: Awesome Rose
In short
Awesome Rose is an Italian restaurant in a basement alley near Garosu-gil in Gangnam, Seoul. I had the Korean beef rose steak and Awesome Rose Pasta with my younger daughter; the juicy steak and mildly spicy rosé sauce worked well together, while the soft lighting and quiet music made conversation easy. It had been crowded on my previous visits.

I think I have visited Awesome Rose more than five times for pasta, and this time I went with my younger daughter. We ordered the Korean Beef Rose Steak and Awesome Rose Pasta for dinner.
How do you get there from Sinsa Station, and do you need a reservation?
Awesome Rose is on B1 at 40 Apgujeong-ro 10-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It is about an 8–10 minute walk from Exit 8 of Sinsa Station, in an alley near the Garosu-gil main street.
The hours listed in the original post are 11:00–22:00, with last orders at 21:00. It said reservations are available through Naver or Catchtable. As there may be a wait on weekends or at peak times, it recommended booking ahead.
From the stairs leading down to the entrance, there was soft lighting and rose decor. I could sense the atmosphere even before entering the dining room.
What was the atmosphere like for a date and conversation?
The interior was cozy, with soft lighting. A black-and-white film starring Audrey Hepburn was playing on one wall, and quiet music was playing.
There was also a large table for group gatherings. On previous visits, it had always been busy, so it was hard to photograph the interior widely; this time, I arrived 30 minutes before last order. After finishing our meal, I was able to photograph the empty tables too.
The table spacing did not feel cramped, so it was easy to talk. Fresh flowers and neatly set tableware were placed on every table, making me think it would suit a blind date or anniversary meal as well. Aprons and blankets were available on one side.
How did the pasta and steak work together?
You could order by scanning the QR code on the table. Since I had come here for pasta many times, I chose pasta again and ordered steak alongside it.
My daughter and I chose the Awesome Rose Pasta and Korean Beef Rose Steak.
What was the texture of the Korean Beef Rose Steak like?
The Korean Beef Rose Steak used striploin. It was browned on the outside and still juicy inside.
I did not notice any tough parts as I ate it, and it was moist to chew. The grilled mushrooms, tomato, and whole-grain mustard served with it paired well with the savory flavor of the Korean beef.
Was the Awesome Rose Pasta too rich?
Awesome Rose Pasta came with an edible rose. As a pasta named after the restaurant, the rose decoration caught my eye first.
The rosé sauce had both the freshness of tomato and the smoothness of cream. It was mildly spicy, so it did not feel too rich through to the end. The sauce coated the noodles well, and it was also good to alternate with the steak.
What made it suitable for an anniversary meal?
After we finished eating and paid, a staff member handed us a single rose as we were leaving. It was memorable as a gift that continued the rose decor in the dining room.
The menu said lettering was available when ordering the rose cheesecake. I did not order the cake this time, but it was information worth keeping in mind for an anniversary.
There was also a four-cut photo booth on the way out. It gave us a way to take photos with the person we had come to eat with after the meal.
For this meal, I liked the combination of juicy Korean beef steak and mildly spicy rosé pasta. It was good for eating and talking under the soft lighting, but because it had been busy on my previous visits, I would recommend a reservation at weekend peak times.
