Sol Beach is a must-do stop on any Samcheok trip! I heard there was an ocean-view restaurant right in front of the beach serving a great-value omakase made with fresh seasonal ingredients, so I went to check it out — and both the food and the view were amazing :) Here's my honest review!

Being right on Samcheok Beach, it's super accessible. The restaurant sits right in front of the beach, and with floor-to-ceiling windows, I was already excited about the view. When I arrived, the staff kindly guided me to parking.

The ocean view was way more stunning than I expected — the moment I stepped in, the view of Samcheok Beach was just beautiful. Definitely a certified view spot 🩶

What comes with the 35,000-won Bomulseom dinner set
What I ordered that day was Samcheok Bomulseom's Bomulseom Jeonyeok Hansang (dinner set), ₩35,000 per person. Lunch is ₩25,000 per person, and the menu composition may vary. This was the seat I was shown! A seasonal seafood omakase while looking out at Samcheok Beach — I was so excited ><

Mussel soup to start
First up was the mussel soup. This one — I still think about the taste even now ㅠ If they sold this at a pojangmacha near my house, I'd be a regular. Clean, refreshing, and so good 🤤
The mussels were fresh too. Eating the plump mussel meat with the broth was the best.

Bossam pork with house-made kimchi
Next came tender boiled pork (suyuk). No gamey smell at all, just soft and delicious. Felt like I'd walked into a bossam specialty spot!

The house-made kimchi and ssamjang (seasoned dipping paste) were especially good. Fresh kimchi topped with chili and ssamjang was heavenly.

Kimchi pancake
Next up, kimchi pancake — always delicious no matter when you eat it.
The crispy kimchi pancake was really tasty too. Just the right tang that kept me wanting more 👏🏻 Seeing how good every dish was, the chef clearly has real skill!

Steamed seafood: blue crab, scallops, abalone and shrimp
Next up was the steamed seafood platter. (I lost my composure and only took photos after already digging in lol.) The seafood was fresh and mildly seasoned, so I think anyone would love it. The kind of flavor that makes you want to mix it with rice 👅
The crab was hearty, and there was plenty of my beloved scallops... At this point I felt like I'd already gotten my money's worth!

The scallops, abalone, and shrimp were all in great condition, which was satisfying.

Soy-marinated bulgogi with tofu and kimchi
Next came the soy-marinated bulgogi with tofu and kimchi. The bulgogi seasoning was great, and wrapping it with tofu and kimchi together was delicious.
Drinks list and corkage rules at Samcheok Bomulseom
Since the side dishes were so good, I ordered a beer too, haha

Besides soju and beer, they have a wide range of drinks including makgeolli, distilled liquor, and wine. With so many dishes coming out, pairing them with drinks seems like a great idea :) Since I drove, I was the only one who had a beer, but I think enjoying a drink alongside this seasonal omakase would be pure bliss 🤤 Corkage is also available, up to one bottle per table (₩20,000).

The highlight: abalone innard fried rice
The last dish was Bomulseom's highlight!! Abalone innard fried rice. The moment it arrived, the savory aroma set my mouth watering (even though I was clearly already full).

Two whole abalones sitting on top, soft and chewy!
The innard sauce is the real key here. Dipping the abalone into the innard sauce was savory and rich — absolutely the best. I kept thinking, why didn't I know about this flavor sooner?

There's octopus in it too. Another flavor I keep thinking about ⭐️
Is this ocean-view dinner near Sol Beach worth it?
The omakase made with seasonal ingredients was so delicious, and being able to enjoy it with a perfect ocean view at an affordable price made for such a happy time. I felt so glad I came to Samcheok! The place is clean and the staff friendly, so it'd be great for all kinds of gatherings too 😇 If you're looking for a good spot near Sol Beach, I recommend visiting.
Taking a walk to look at the ocean in front of the restaurant after the meal to help digest was the perfect finish 💯🤍
