I went with a friend because I wanted a cool drink outside on a nice-weather day, and it was so good I have to write a review yum yum💞

Where is Kaken and what are its hours?

Kaken is at 237 Dangsan-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, just 50m — a 1-minute walk — from Dangsan Station Exit 2. It's open daily from 17:00 to 02:00, and corkage is charged.

I went around 9pm on a Saturday, and it was packed since that's prime drinking time for everyone!! Still, we didn't have to wait haha. They're open until 2am so you can drink late into the night,, the best

What are the outdoor bar table seats at Kaken like?

Kaken has a mix of seating — bar tables, 2-seaters, and 4-seaters. Among them there are outdoor bar table seats, which are seriously great!

The open structure lets the breeze drift in, which made the beer taste even better lol. I'm planning to sit in the outdoor seats next time too ㅇㅅㅇ

Fried chicken cartilage, 16,000 won, with sriracha mayo

Kaken's fried chicken cartilage is 16,000 won and comes with sriracha mayo sauce. The cartilage had a great crunch and the batter shattered crisply outside — top-notch texture.

Dipping it in the sriracha mayo sauce gave it a salty, slightly spicy kick that paired perfectly with the savory fried coating!! Amazing with beer!!!🍻🍻🍺🍺 I really recommend this one

Whole steamed squid, 16,000 won, with rich guts

The whole steamed squid had plump, chewy squid and rich, silky guts that just kept calling for more drinks… ha

See the guts..? I really love steamed squid, but places that sell the whole thing are rare ㅠ And even where you find it, whole steamed squid tends to be pricey — here the squid is plump and good quality but cheap, so I loved it!! Definitely different from other places' whole steamed squid.

Pairing it with a cold draft beer was absolutely perfect. Chatting away with my friend in the outdoor atmosphere, we lost track of time!!

You can also watch them grill the skewers right in front of you! I'll come back for skewers next time lol. Places with this kind of atmosphere aren't easy to find among Dangsan bars, and Kaken definitely left an impression on me.❤️
