Misa comic café after-work date, Switch 2 Pocopia: Real Toon, Hanam

After work, we were on a date in Misa, Hanam, looking for somewhere to relax comfortably and hang out, and that's how we found Real Toon Comic Café (리얼툰만화카페).

I thought it would just be a place to read comic books, but it had all sorts of room types, plus board games and even Nintendo Switch consoles — there was way more to enjoy than I expected.

You could also order simple meals and snacks, so it was more than good enough for a long date in one space.

If you're looking for a place to enjoy yourself comfortably no matter how unpredictable the weather is these days, I'd recommend Real Toon, a comic café for things to do in Hanam.

First impressions of Real Toon Comic Café: an interior like a comic book page

From the entrance, Real Toon Comic Café had an impressive atmosphere, like walking into a comic book world.

The overall interior used white and black, so it felt clean, and the inside was managed to be bright and pleasant too.

It wasn't just a space for reading comic books — games and a variety of other activities were all set up in one place, which made me think it's a great match for anyone looking for things to do in Hanam.

What are the seats like? Rooms of every shape, up to a second-floor loft

Inside Real Toon Comic Café there were several different types of rooms prepared, and the variety was really impressive.

From spaces where you can lie down comfortably to read comics, to rooms with big TVs installed, to seats good for using with several people at once — it seemed like there'd be plenty of options no matter who you brought along.

Every room had curtains, so it looked good for reading comics comfortably, somewhat out of other people's line of sight.

There were even loft-style rooms you climb up to on the second floor, which I think kids would really love.

Thanks to Real Toon Comic Café's distinctive interior, even something as ordinary as a ladder made me feel like I'd stepped into a comic world.

Above all, the space extended up to the second floor, so it was bigger than I expected, and I liked that whether you come alone to rest quietly or with friends or a partner, you can pick a seat that matches the vibe you want.

With a mostly white interior, I figured they'd have to work hard to keep it from getting dirty, but it was spotless everywhere I looked, which honestly surprised me.

What can you borrow? Board games, mini fans and blankets

On one side of Real Toon Comic Café, various board games were set up, which seemed great for switching things up when you get bored of reading comics.

Besides board games, there was even a zone where you could rent mini fans and blankets, which made me feel like they'd thought of everything.

You can use a fan when it's hot, and borrow a blanket if the AC feels too cold, so it seemed like a good indoor date spot even for friends who run hot or cold easily.

How much does Real Toon cost? 3-hour pass with a drink for 9,900 won

The pricing was structured as follows.

• 1-hour pass: ₩4,900
• 3-hour pass: ₩9,900
• 5-hour pass: ₩14,900
• All-day pass: ₩16,900

You can pick based on your purpose for visiting and how long you plan to stay.

The 5-hour and all-day passes can only be purchased on weekdays.

We chose the 3-hour pass that includes one drink.

The price was ₩9,900 per person, and I paid an extra ₩500 to switch mine to iced Earl Grey tea.

They put the drink in a dedicated holder so it wouldn't tip over — a small detail, but really convenient while using the space.

It was especially nice being able to set my drink down securely while gaming or reading comics in the room.

Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 on hand: playing Pocopia on the big screen

At Real Toon Comic Café in Misa, Hanam, you could also rent a Nintendo Switch.

Not just Switch 1 but the latest Switch 2 was also available, so we could enjoy whatever game we wanted on a big screen.

Best of all, Pocopia — which I'd really wanted to try — was available!!

To rent a Nintendo cartridge, you leave a card or ID as a deposit, so I handed over my card right away and borrowed Pocopia.

Playing on the big screen made the characters and backgrounds look so much better, so we could really enjoy the game properly.

Being able to enjoy Nintendo Switch alongside comics was a huge advantage of Real Toon Comic Café.

Food at Real Toon: meals, nachos and sotteok sotteok

True to the nature of a comic café where people stay for a long time, Real Toon Comic Café had a wide variety of meal and snack options.

We'd already eaten before visiting, so we kept it light with nachos, sotteok sotteok (rice cake and sausage skewers), and Sulbing ice cream.

Crispy nachos with sauce, paired with spicy sotteok sotteok in between, went perfectly with gaming.

I liked that you can pick a simple snack even after eating a full meal elsewhere, and that you can also cover a full meal if you're staying a long time.

Is it clean? Two rounds of disinfection and the house rules

While looking around the space, I noticed signage about disinfection and usage rules, so I read through them.

It stated that they disinfect frequently and thoroughly, with two rounds of cleaning, which gave me the impression they take hygiene seriously.

Seeing staff actually walking around carrying baskets of disinfectant solution boosted my confidence in the place.

The usage rules were also laid out clearly, so even a first-time visitor could use the facility without any difficulty.

A little parting snack on the way out

When we finished up and got our shoe locker key back, they handed it over along with a small snack.

It was an unexpected touch of service, which made it feel even nicer.

The staff's kindness goes without saying, and from hygiene to thoughtfulness toward guests, satisfaction was high across the board.

From the drink holder to the rental items, hygiene management, and the variety of menu options, this place was full of small and big touches of thoughtfulness.
