Busan milmyeon restaurant in Jeonpo: mul vs bibim sets at Sanbandeul

This is a great spot in Jeonpo, Seomyeon for solo dining, where you can eat gukbap (Korean soup with rice) and milmyeon at a good price, and even the set menus stay under ten thousand won without breaking the bank 😃 The gukbap has its own house broth so it's rich, the milmyeon was refreshing for summer, and the smoky suyuk was delicious too — here's my honest review of this solo-dining spot in Seomyeon.

📍Sanbandeul Pork Gukbap's Seomyeon Jeonpo main branch is a 5-minute walk from Seomyeon Station / Jeonpo Station, right across from Jeonpo놀이마루. 🅿️ Parking is available at the Ssangyong parking lot for a fee — ₩1,000 per 30 minutes.

Inside Sanbandeul: bar seats made for solo diners

The interior is on the cozy side ✨ There are bar seats that are comfortable for eating alone, plus 3 tables in the back. 🚻 The restroom is inside the restaurant too, which was convenient. I visited in the evening, and quite a few solo diners came in while we were eating 🫢

Water was set out on every table. The water bottle was unusual — you press it down and the water comes out haha

Everything except the suyuk came out at once! 😆 The suyuk followed about a minute later. Cold milmyeon really is the best thing for summer. I ordered the milmyeon + karaage set, and my partner ordered the bibim milmyeon + wang gyoza set.

They also gave us vinegar and mustard. Personally, I think adding both makes the noodles taste even better 👍

Milmyeon + karaage set, 10,500 won: mul milmyeon with icy broth

This is the milmyeon + karaage (fried chicken) set. The milmyeon portion was really generous, and the karaage wasn't just 2 or 3 pieces — it was 5 to 6 pieces. All that for ten thousand won — isn't that great value 👏👏 Let's dig in.

The mul milmyeon had chewy noodles, and the meat topping was thick and tasty too. The noodles were chewy and thin, which I liked, and the broth had a clean flavor. The broth was full of shaved ice, perfect for cooling off in summer 😋 Adding vinegar and mustard makes it even more savory.

The karaage (fried chicken) came out crispy on the outside, and the chicken inside was tender 🍗

Bibim milmyeon + wang gyoza set, 10,900 won: how spicy is the sauce?

This is the bibim milmyeon and wang gyoza set my partner ordered. You can get the gyoza through the review event, so it might be worth joining that 😉

The bibim milmyeon had a bit more broth than at other places — it felt like something between the mul and bibim versions. The seasoning wasn't too sweet and had a clean flavor, which made it easy to eat. My partner said the bibim version was actually tastier 😉

The wang gyoza tasted like a flavor you already know and love — crispy on the outside, packed full inside. It was delicious dipped in the sauce 🥟 I thought this was just a gukbap spot for solo dining in Seomyeon, but the milmyeon turned out to be great too 😋

Suyuk (small), 6,000 won: charcoal-grilled pork with a smoky edge

This suyuk (boiled pork) looked completely different from the usual gukbap-restaurant version. It's a house-made jambon grilled over charcoal, giving it a rich smoky flavor, and it came with pickled onions underneath — the meat had that great smoky char, almost like bacon, with absolutely no gamey smell 🥓

They gave us sikhye (sweet rice punch) for dessert too. It wasn't too sweet, just the right amount and refreshingly cold — a nice way to finish the meal 😋

Sanbandeul, a Busan Jeonpo/Seomyeon spot for solo gukbap and milmyeon, is great for eating alone and easy on the wallet. The staff were really kind, and every dish was delicious — my honest recommendation for a solo dining spot in Seomyeon.
