One of those days when my whole body was aching. Between all the recent exercise and walking, I felt like I weighed a ton. If I didn't loosen up today, I had a feeling I'd be sore for a long while. Timing worked out, so I went to Busan Seomyeon Thai Massage.

Parking and how to find the 4th-floor entrance

The parking lot is in the alley across from the building, about a 3-minute walk from the shop. It's a tower-style lot, so some larger cars may have to park outside.

Search for the parking lot on your navigation app, park, then head out to the main street and cross diagonally at the crosswalk.

It's on the 4th floor of the building right next to Hollys Coffee, with a sign that reads "Seomyeon Thai." Just take the elevator up.

The doors open automatically right as you step off the elevator.

A cozy interior and a faint aroma scent greet you first. Everything was so neatly arranged that it gave off a clean, well-kept feeling. There's also a well-maintained fish tank — I was genuinely startled by how big the fish were.

There's also a spacious waiting area, good for arriving a bit early or sitting down for a cup of tea after your massage before heading out.

A self-serve coffee bar is set up too.

Foot bath: arrive 15 minutes early

This is the foot bath area. It's available if you arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. It's foot bath only, without a foot massage, but you can request it when making your phone reservation.

Past the artwork on the walls, there are individual private rooms.

So I decided to go with the 60-minute basic Thai massage course. I was handed a set of clothes and led into the treatment room to change and wait.

Changed and waiting!! The air conditioning was blasting, so it was cool and comfortable.

Simple Thai phrases for adjusting the pressure

Communication during the treatment was really tough. Luckily there was a basic Thai phrase sheet posted, which came in handy.

The masseuse came in and started the stopwatch. 60 minutes, go! She loosened up my whole body first, working from head to toe. My shoulders were sore from exercising the day before, so I said "bao bao" — and she immediately understood and eased up. Thankfully she went gently and there was no discomfort.

After the massage, she applied a cooling cream-like balm. It felt kind of like ya dom (inhaler balm), and the cooling sensation washed all my fatigue away. It ended right on time, and I got dressed and headed out.

How the body felt after the 60 minutes

My knotted muscles were gently loosened, and all the fatigue melted away. Traditional Thai massage is also supposed to be good for blood circulation.
