I went to Gwanganda Jjji, a sashimi restaurant in Gwangalli, Busan~ It was a place with a great atmosphere and great service, where Gwangan Bridge spreads out right in front of you and you can enjoy plentiful natural seafood and fresh sashimi caught by their own fishing boats~

Starting the Gwanganda Jjji review, where the staff's kindness and service, the taste and the atmosphere were all satisfying~

Parking at Gwanganda Jjji in Gwangalli

Parking at Gwanganda Jjji is free on the building's 1st floor lot (about 6 spots available). We went almost right at opening time and there was space, so we used the building lot. The waterfront park public lot and waterfront children's public lot in front of the restaurant support 1 car per table for 2 hours.

Gwangan Bridge window view, private rooms and group seating

Gwanganda Jjji's main hall is arranged so every table can enjoy seafood while looking out at Gwangan Bridge. The interior is clean too, and the moment you walk in, Gwangan Bridge spreads out through the wide window — it was so~ pretty~~ I thought, wow, being in a location this good... a Gwangalli sashimi restaurant really is different.

The window seats were especially popular, and we just barely missed getting one, which was a little disappointing ㅠㅠ (I took this photo after the other guests left)

There's a room for 5–10 people minimum and maximum, and group seating for 11–24 people. There's also a room available for small gatherings and group dinners, so if you're looking for a Gwangalli sashimi restaurant with a room, this could be a great choice~

We booked ahead on Naver, so the dachi set started coming out right away~ Every single dish felt fresh and premium~ There seemed to be about 20 kinds of basic side dishes (sukiyaki-style spread)~

Live abalone sashimi, cheese-grilled scallops and cream shrimp

The Gwanganda Jjji dachi set had really clean dishware, and each menu item was truly beyond expectations in quality~

Cheese-grilled scallops at Gwanganda Jjji

Maybe because they use live abalone, the abalone sashimi was so~ chewy with the best crunchy texture!! The cheese-grilled scallops were sweet and salty and soft, seriously appetite-stimulating~

Cream shrimp at Gwanganda Jjji

The cream shrimp was really delicious too, with a refreshing cream sauce~ I bet people who like this would order extra haha

Live shrimp sashimi and octopus tangtangi

Gwanganda Jjji's seafood is truly fresh itself. The live shrimp sashimi came out still moving. That's supposedly how you get it that sweet and delicious. I can't eat it myself, but my boyfriend said the octopus tangtangi (chopped raw octopus) was really delicious — he said the more you chew it, the nuttier it tastes~!!

Seafood pajeon at Gwanganda Jjji

How is the pajeon (green onion pancake) delicious too? All the seafood was delicious, and the pajeon was seriously amazing too.

Plate of abalone shell dish at Gwanganda Jjji

They told us the dish on the right was abalone shell, which I'd never tried before~ It was soft and tasty~ The dishes weren't rushed out all at once — they served with enough pacing to really let us enjoy each one. It was nice being able to enjoy the seafood dishes at a relaxed pace. Next comes the star of the show~ the precious, fresh mixed sashimi platter arrives~ dun dun~

Mixed sashimi platter: flounder, red seabream, spotted halibut, sea bass

Mixed sashimi platter of flounder, red seabream, spotted halibut and sea bass at Gwanganda Jjji

The mixed sashimi platter had flounder, the classic white fish; red seabream, the flower of white fish; spotted halibut sashimi; and sea bass sashimi. I don't think I'd ever had spotted halibut or sea bass sashimi before, so I was so~ curious what they'd taste like haha

Gwanganda Jjji mixed sashimi platter with name tags

It was nice that each type of sashimi had a name tag. The slices were quite thick and looked delicious~ From the moment you pick them up with chopsticks you can feel the freshness and chewiness...

This was my first time trying spotted halibut, and it had this totally crunchy-crunchy texture that was so appealing? It's not as mild as flounder, but the texture was great and it was really delicious~!! The sea bass was genuinely thick and chewy. It's nothing like the sashimi you get at a buffet haha. Guess a sashimi restaurant in Gwangalli really is different... my boyfriend and I are both having our eyes opened to sashimi...

Put wasabi on the sushi that came with the sashimi, top it with a slice of the super-fresh sashimi, dip it lightly in soy sauce!! It's genuinely so so delicious haha. The sashimi platter for two was really generous~ By the time we'd almost finished the sashimi, the abalone porridge and rice dishes came out too haha. The menu just wouldn't stop coming... (so happy)

Finishing with abalone porridge, braised rockfish, crab tempura and crab stew

Braised rockfish with radish at Gwanganda Jjji

The abalone porridge, green with the mixed-in innards, was nutty and delicious, and the braised rockfish with radish was sweet (the rockfish meat was really soft and tasty)

Crab tempura at Gwanganda Jjji
Plate of shrimp tempura at Gwanganda Jjji

The small crab tempura had a fair amount of meat inside and was very nutty. The shrimp tempura was also plump and filled out haha

Crab stew at Gwanganda Jjji

The crab stew leaned sweet but also spicy, seriously a drinking-food flavor~ Between the seafood and sashimi, I think we ate about thirty kinds of dishes.

Is the Gwanganda Jjji dachi set worth it?

Table at Gwanganda Jjji after finishing the dachi set meal

This was my first time experiencing a dachi set, and it was seriously amazing. We had other plans so we didn't drink, but it was really satisfying even without alcohol — imagine how perfect the meal would've been with drinks~?

Whether it's a date around Gwangalli or the waterfront park, treating a guest, a group dinner, a family gathering, or even a parent's birthday, this seems like a satisfying spread for the price for any occasion. If you want to enjoy a variety of seafood, side dishes, and delicious fresh sashimi with a great view, go go to Gwanganda Jjji~
