Busan Seomyeon bakery for a low-sugar kids' snack: Daeshin Peanut

Hi everyone, it's Charming ^^ Lately my kid has gotten into the habit of grabbing snacks with friends after daycare pickup, and it's become part of our daily routine..! With the muggy summer weather making the playground rough, we've been snacking more, and cavities started popping up ㅠㅠ so I got a bit worried. So I went looking — what's a healthy dessert, a bread I can let my kid eat without worry?

Where is Daeshin Peanut Bread in Seomyeon, and when is it open?

Daeshin Peanut Bread Busan Seomyeon Branch is at 20 Seojeon-ro, Busanjin-gu, Busan, South Korea, on the main road across from where the old Seomyeon NC building used to be. Hours are 10:00–20:00, closed Sundays, and there's no dedicated parking, so you'll need a nearby paid lot.

I was out running errands in Seomyeon and happened to be nearby, so I stopped in right then! This is Daeshin Peanut Bread Busan Seomyeon Branch, across from the old Seomyeon NC spot. No parking on site, so you'll need to park nearby first.

Here's the storefront! It's right on the main road so it's easy to spot, and I saw people walking past, stopping, turning back, and buying haha.

Beyond peanut bread: egg bread and peanut butter at Daeshin

Besides peanut bread, Daeshin Peanut Bread Busan Seomyeon Branch also sells egg bread and 100% additive-free peanut butter. Apparently the bread is super popular at Seomun Market, the biggest market in Daegu?! Every once in a while I get a craving for nostalgic egg bread, and it's so easy to pick one up here ~ definitely worth remembering haha. They also sell 100% peanut butter made with only peanuts, no additives, just so you know ✔️

Peanut bread prices: ₩3,000 for 20 pieces up to ₩10,000 for 80

Prices at Daeshin Peanut Bread are ₩3,000 for 20 pieces, ₩6,000 for 45, and ₩10,000 for 80. Given how bread prices are these days, that's such a deal..!! Because they're packed full of peanuts haha. There's a cute peanut bread mascot character too, and apparently Daeshin Peanut Bread is the only one nationwide with its own in-house dough. That makes it feel even more trustworthy.

Egg bread is ₩2,000! And they sell peanut latte too — I was so curious but had to catch a bus so I couldn't buy one, though it seemed like it'd taste amazingly nutty! Peanut butter comes in ₩10,000 / ₩4,000 / ₩12,000 options, and peanut latte is ₩3,500.

Roasted peanuts sold by the doe at Daeshin Peanut Bread

Another thing I found unusual — they also sell roasted peanuts. Sold by the doe (a traditional Korean measuring unit), one doe for ₩10,000 and half a doe for ₩5,000. If you're curious, it's worth asking and trying a sample! You know peanuts are good for you, right!? Just looking at the health benefits of peanuts makes me want to eat them more going forward 🥲👍

There were even tips posted on how to eat egg bread deliciously. It was fun reading all the little signs while waiting! Peanut bread and egg bread reheat well in an air fryer even after they cool, and they keep well for a while, which makes me like this place even more haha.

The ₩10,000 box of 80 peanut breads, and why it works as a gift

I bought ₩10,000 worth of the 80-piece peanut bread. They pack it in a box, so it's easy to carry and also nice for gift-wrapping. The packaging is so cute too, right? Haha. It's the best bread to eat with kids. Plus it'd be great to share with your parents too? Healthy, subtly flavored, and nutty — so much more satisfying than a heavily sweetened bread dessert!

How to crisp up peanut bread that has gone soft

If it gets soggy, try eating it this way! You can refrigerate for 2–3 days or freeze for up to 7 days, so it's great that Daeshin Peanut Bread keeps for a while 👍

Look at this, a whole box full! They're small in size so they're easy to pick up one at a time, and the second you take a bite, that nutty peanut smell hits you~~~ Eating them this way means you end up eating a lot of peanuts, which is a nice bonus!

How did the peanut bread work as an after-daycare snack?

Daeshin Peanut Bread isn't too sweet and has a nutty flavor, so when I brought it home as a snack for my kid, it disappeared on the spot!! Munching away happily haha. Can you see how much peanut is packed in there? It's great when kids eat nuts, but they don't usually eat them if you just hand them over, right? Not sweet, nutty, good for getting nut nutrition in, and gentle enough for little kids to eat without worry, so I recommend it as a dessert for kids 😙👍

I'll definitely be picking up Daeshin Peanut Bread every time I'm out in Seomyeon from now on. Recommended as a must-try dessert near Seomyeon Station.
