Changwon jokbal restaurant's medium jokbo set for five: Songgane
In short
Songgane Wang Jokbal Bossam Changwon Station Branch is a jokbal (braised pork trotter) and bossam (boiled pork wraps) restaurant in Palyong-dong, Uichang-gu, Changwon, that boils its jokbal fresh in-store every day. On the evening of Liberation Day, four adults and one child ordered the medium jokbo set, which brings jokbal, bossam and tray makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles) out together, and ate their fill of clean-tasting jokbal and bossam kept warm on a tabletop burner. Between the sharply wasabi-scented tray makguksu and the soybean paste stew at the end, Songgane made for a generous family dinner.

It's Saturday today, but it's also Liberation Day, right? My husband finally had a day off, so we went to the wholesale mall to shop and then had dinner at "Songgane Wang Jokbal Bossam." My husband and daughter absolutely love bossam and jokbal, haha 😋

Where is Songgane Wang Jokbal Bossam Changwon Station Branch, and where do you park?
Songgane Wang Jokbal Bossam Changwon Station Branch is on the 1st floor of 13-12 Uichang-daero 54beon-gil, Uichang-gu, Changwon, Gyeongnam. It's open Monday to Saturday from 14:00 to 24:00, with last order at 23:00, and closed every Sunday.
🚗 Parking info: there's room for 4? 5? cars right in front of the restaurant, so we parked out front.

Apparently Songgane Wang Jokbal Bossam boils its handmade jokbal fresh in-store every single day!

What is the room like? Separated seating for family meals and groups
Here's what the inside looks like! There aren't full doors, but the spaces are separated individually, so it's perfect for eating with family. There are also plenty of tables, so it seems like a good spot for group get-togethers too~! With so many lodgings nearby, it seemed like there's a lot of delivery business as well~

Is the medium jokbo set enough for four adults and one child?
Here's the menu. We wanted to try a bit of everything, so we ordered the jokbo set. The jokbo set comes with jokbal + bossam + tray makguksu.
Since our group of 4 adults + 1 child isn't super big eaters, the staff recommended the medium size was fine, so we went with medium. Also, apparently they only use 100% domestic front trotters here. Jokbal has to be front trotters, no question haha 😆

They had a wide range of options from fire-grilled spicy jokbal to cold jokbal. I'd love to try the spicy jokbal too 🤭

Except for the bossam meat, everything else including the jokbal is domestically sourced~!
Side dishes at Songgane and what extra cabbage kimchi costs
They set out the basic side dishes first. The freshly made kimchi was so good. The bean sprout soup was nice and refreshing~!

Just a heads up, extra napa cabbage kimchi costs an additional ₩4,000.
How do the jokbal and bossam taste? Clean trotters, warm bossam on the burner
Finally, the jokbo set (jokbal + bossam + tray makguksu) arrived. I loved being able to try a bit of everything 😆 Let's dig in properly today too!! Baby potato, are you ready? 🤭

For the bossam, they put a flame underneath like this so you can eat it piping hot. It wasn't dry at all, it was moist, so my husband actually recommended the bossam over the jokbal haha
Personally I prefer jokbal over bossam, so my chopsticks kept going for the jokbal. I can't eat it if there's any funky smell, but there was zero odor here, which I loved. The portion was huge too, so we ate until we were completely full!😋 There were big bones underneath too, so I held onto them and gnawed away, haha

Songgane's tray makguksu has a strong wasabi kick
The tray makguksu had a sharp, strong wasabi flavor. I love wasabi so it was delicious for me, but if you're not a fan of wasabi, keep that in mind when you order~!

We also made wraps together like this. I went with dried radish, my husband went with kimchi.

There were onions laid underneath the bossam like this, giving off a subtle onion aroma that made it even more delicious.

Try a bite!!!😋
Finishing the meal with soybean paste stew and a bowl of rice
The last dish has to be doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), no question. My husband and I have the most matching taste, so we both immediately ordered doenjang jjigae! Packed with peppers and tofu, the broth was nicely spicy. We polished off a whole bowl of rice each 🐷
They pack the rice in tightly like this, and our baby potato ate all of it....🤣 Even the little one picks jokbal!
Charging space, baby chairs and restrooms at Songgane
There's a charging spot, so anyone who needs to charge their phone can use it comfortably.

Lastly, my favorite Maxim coffee. Let's have something sweet for dessert~~☕️

There's also floss and candy at the counter~

They also have a baby chair on hand. The restroom is located indoors too. We ate well again today, full and satisfied. If you're craving jokbal and bossam, go check out "Songgane Wang Jokbal Bossam Changwon Station Branch"~!
