Egg and inari sushi for kids at an Incheon sushi shop: Minyeong Hwareo
In short
Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch is a Japanese takeout shop inside Moraenae Market in Namdong-gu, Incheon, where sushi and sashimi sit in a chilled showcase so customers pick each piece themselves. On a weekday visit, Minyeong Hwareo packed omakase sushi for the adults plus egg sushi and inari sushi (fried tofu pocket sushi) for the children, and added soy sauce, ginger and miso soup so nothing had to be prepared at home. A good stop on days when every member of the family wants to choose their own sushi.

I had errands to run at Moraenae Market on a weekday and stumbled on a place I just couldn't walk past — Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch! I'm already such a sucker for sashimi and sushi that whenever I'm at a market, my eyes go straight to the sashimi or sushi shops, isn't that just the rule haha. I'd had a great meal at their Sinpo Market branch before, so the second I spotted the Moraenae Market location, packing something to take home felt like the obvious move.
Where is Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch, and when is it open?
Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch is inside Moraenae Market at 55 104-ho, Guwol-ro 276beon-gil, Namdong-gu, Incheon, South Korea. It's open daily from 10:00 to 19:00, and you can use the nearby public parking lot.

The shop's bright yellow storefront made it stand out even inside the market, so it wasn't hard to find at all. Out front there's a chilled showcase packed with all kinds of sushi and sashimi already boxed up for takeout~~~ My mouth was watering haha, there were way more varieties than I expected.

What sushi was in the showcase at Minyeong Hwareo?
The showcase at Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch had everything from easy, kid-friendly options like inari sushi and egg sushi to garlic shrimp sushi, raw salmon sushi, tuna sushi, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) sushi, aged kimchi and flatfish sushi, raw shrimp sushi, and boiled shrimp sushi — a whole lineup by type.

With this many choices just for sushi alone, it's perfect for picking exactly what you're in the mood for. Good good. Especially great if you want to try a little bit of a lot of different kinds.

Picking your own sushi piece by piece
One thing I personally loved: you get to pick your sushi by actually looking at it!! Instead of just ordering off a menu, there's real fun in browsing the sushi laid out in the showcase and choosing as you go.
There are combo sets like special sushi and omakase sushi with a mix of types, and if you love one particular ingredient, you can just order that as a single item! Pack some sashimi for a night of drinks at home, or pick sushi for a filling meal — either way works, and how great is that haha.

Opening the omakase sushi takeout box at home
With so many options, I went back and forth but landed on omakase sushi as my main pick!! Since I prefer tasting a bit of many kinds rather than sticking to just one, this kind of set is absolutely my favorite haha.

Got home and opened it up — the visuals were no joke haha.

It was loaded with everything from tuna to shrimp, what looked like eel sushi, and even gunkan (battleship-style rolls), so picking through each piece one by one was genuinely fun.

Among them, the thick-cut tuna piece really caught my eye — zoomed in for a photo and you could see the marbling and sheen so clearly, ugh.

The soy-marinated shrimp sushi still had that springy texture, and there were gunkan rolls that looked like sea urchin and salmon roe too, so I ate every bit of it happily and thoroughly.

Egg sushi and inari sushi chosen for the kids
I also picked up inari sushi and egg sushi separately from Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch for the kids to eat. If you've got kids who can't handle raw sashimi yet, egg sushi and inari sushi really can't be beat.

They packed soy sauce, ginger, and even miso soup along with the sushi, so there was almost nothing extra I needed to prep once I got home.

Mom and dad ate the omakase sushi while the kids had their egg sushi and inari sushi, so there was zero menu debate even on a day the whole family wanted sushi haha. If you're generally into sashimi or sushi, it's worth a stop whenever you're passing through Moraenae Market. Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch had a wide range of fresh sushi you could see and choose in person before taking it home! I'd recommend it to anyone looking for good sushi in Guwol-dong, for market-browsing takeout sushi at Moraenae Market, or for a sashimi-and-sushi dinner to enjoy comfortably at home in Guwol-dong.
