Rainy-day window-seat pasta duo at Withwich, Namdong, Incheon

In short

Withwich is a brunch and pasta restaurant near the Asiad Athletes' Village in Namdong, Incheon. On a heavily rainy day, an early visit brought a la carte order of rucola arrabbiata pasta (₩15,500) and carbonara cream pasta (₩15,900) with two drinks. With parking connected directly to the indoor dining room and full window seating overlooking the rain, it made for a relaxed rainy-day brunch spot.

Why it's comfortable even on a rainy day: parking connects straight to the restaurant

It was pouring rain that day, so I couldn't get any outdoor photos. Still, Withwich's parking lot connects directly to the restaurant indoors, which was great — no need to step outside even in heavy rain.

Withwich brunch set and menu lineup

Known as a brunch spot, Withwich offers everything from brunch sets with salad, sandwich, and pasta, to set menus combining pasta, salad, and pizza.

Window seats and the restaurant atmosphere

The interior was more spacious and relaxed than I expected. Since it was raining hard and I visited early, there weren't many customers yet, so I could comfortably take photos throughout the space.

I especially loved the full window walls that let you eat while looking out at the scenery. On a rainy day, the view outside actually felt quite atmospheric, and the artificial lemon tree inside blended nicely with the space, giving the whole place a stylish feel.

Two à la carte pastas instead of a set, plus two drinks

I considered ordering a set menu but ended up ordering two à la carte pastas and two drinks.

There was also a wide variety of sandwiches on the menu, and looking through it made me think I should definitely try one on my next visit.

The pickles that come as a basic side are self-serve, so you can help yourself to as much as you like.

For a drink I ordered a zero-sugar cola, served with a cup full of ice to keep it nice and cold. Even on such a rainy day, enjoying brunch indoors with a cold drink felt refreshing.

I started with the rucola arrabbiata pasta I'd ordered. It had that distinctive spicy-yet-tangy tomato-based flavor typical of arrabbiata, and the sauce was well absorbed into the noodles so it wasn't bland at all.

There was a fairly generous mix of toppings, so the texture kept shifting nicely with every bite. The noodles themselves held a nice bite without going soft, so overall it was really tasty.

The one letdown: the amount of rucola

My one personal complaint was that there wasn't as much rucola on top as I'd hoped. I really like rucola's slightly bitter, fragrant flavor, so I think it would have been even better with a more generous amount. Still, overall the combination of sauce, toppings, and noodles was great, so I was satisfied with the pasta itself.

I didn't get to taste the carbonara my companion ordered, but just looking at it, it seemed really appetizing. Piled with cheese on top, it looked like it would have a rich, nutty flavor, and it was noticeably loaded with toppings like button mushrooms and bacon.

The bacon and mushrooms in particular looked plentiful enough to give it a satisfying bite even from a glance. From what I heard, it really was delicious, so I'll have to try the carbonara myself next time.

Who would enjoy this place

Withwich sells not just pasta but a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, and pizzas, along with a good range of drinks like coffee and ade. With so many menu options, it works well whether you want a simple brunch or a leisurely meal with several dishes ordered together. It felt like a comfortable place to enjoy good pasta or a sandwich while taking in the view outside and chatting at ease. Looking to spend some relaxed time over brunch near the Asiad Athletes' Village in Guwol-dong? Withwich might be worth a visit.
