Seongsu pasta restaurant with spicy rosé pasta: Seongsu Darak
In short
Seongsu Darak is a Western restaurant in Seongdong, Seoul, serving omelet rice and pasta. After a long-awaited walk-in visit, I loved the secret-door entrance, warm two-floor space, lovely plating, and the balance of its omelet rice and spicy rosé pasta. Verdict: a place I’d happily return to for a Seongsu date or solo meal.

These days, Seongsu-dong has so much to see, along with so many pretty cafés and great restaurants, right? Among them was a famous hot spot I’d wanted to visit for ages.

It was Seongsu Darak, the place where I had to turn away with tears in my eyes every time because of the long waiting line.

But recently, my chance finally came! It is usually packed with people waiting, but somehow I got lucky enough to walk right in without a wait—can you believe it?
Seongsu Darak, reached through a secret door
Seongsu Darak makes an impression from the entrance alone.

Its unusual entrance door, which feels like it leads to a secret space, immediately catches your eye. Before I even opened it, I found myself thinking, “Ah, this place is really special.”

Just like the restaurant’s name suggests, it feels as though you pass through a secret door and head straight up to an attic. The restaurant is spread across the building’s second and third floors.

The interior is clean yet cozy and atmospheric throughout, so I thought it would be perfect for a Seongsu date.

The tables are comfortably spaced and the lighting is warm, so photos come out beautifully. Its reputation seems to have spread far and wide these days—I saw lots of international visitors as well as Korean diners.

I could really see why it is one of Seongsu-dong’s signature hot spots.
Seongsu Darak signature dishes and prices
Once seated, I eagerly opened the menu.

There was such a wonderful variety of Western-style dishes!

- Darak Omelet Rice: ₩17,000
- Darak Rosé Pasta: ₩19,000
- Spicy Crab Risotto: ₩19,000
- Chopped Pork Neck Steak: ₩24,000
There were also plenty of tempting options, including corn gnocchi, beef brisket perilla pasta, and spicy cream pasta, so choosing was difficult. Still, you have to try the signatures on a first visit, right?

We ordered the two best-known dishes: Darak Omelet Rice and Darak Rosé Pasta! They also have a variety of events going on.
How were the Darak omelet rice and rosé pasta?
The moment our order filled the table, I couldn’t help exclaiming over how it looked. From the dishes to the plating, it was pure Instagram-worthy style!

Signature Darak Omelet Rice

This dish comes with European-style fried rice topped with a soft Japanese-style omelet and generously covered in Darak’s own house-made omelet-rice sauce.
A staff member cut the omelet open for us, and the sight of the fluffy, soft egg gently unfolding was a work of art.

One bite, and the combination of fluffy yet tender egg, the house-made sauce that clung beautifully to every bite, and fried rice was simply fantastic.

If you visit Seongsu Darak alone for a solo meal, I strongly recommend the omelet rice without hesitation! It has an appealing flavor that everyone can enjoy.
Spicy-sweet Darak Rosé Pasta

This pasta is topped generously with spicy house-made meat sauce, sweet fresh cream, and Grana Padano cheese.

You mix in the cute fresh-cream burrata-cheese-shaped topping placed over the pasta. The rosé sauce could have become rich and heavy, but it has just the right kick of spice, so I could enjoy it deliciously to the very last bite.

It was also a truly excellent match with the omelet rice!
A meal that explained the long wait
After trying it myself, I immediately understood why it is always crowded and the wait is so long.

With atmosphere, presentation, and flavor all covered, I’d enthusiastically recommend it to anyone looking for Seongsu brunch or a Western restaurant. From the fun of its special entrance to the delicious food, I had such a satisfying meal.

I have absolutely saved this as a great restaurant I want to visit again!

It could also be fun to try the “The Boyz & The B” current set meal. I’m going to tackle that menu next time~~♡

If you are looking for an atmospheric date spot in Seongsu-dong, or want to enjoy proper omelet rice and pasta, make sure to visit Seongsu Darak at least once!
