Suwon Korean restaurant for a baby-friendly meal: Jeju Eunhuine

In short

Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch is a Korean restaurant in Ingye-dong, Suwon, serving Jeju-style hangover soup and dombe meat. We visited with our 13-month-old and had a comfortable, filling meal thanks to the baby chairs and odor-free boiled pork. Verdict: a place I would happily return to for Jeju-style soup with a baby.

Jeju-style hangover soup in Ingye-dong

This is a Suwon hangover-soup spot whose exterior is absolutely full of Jeju vibes! Eunhuine Haejangguk is such a famous chain that it feels like somewhere you simply have to try at least once. I heard a branch had opened in Suwon Ingye, so I went along, and the inside was genuinely neat and clean.

We visited after 2 p.m. on a Sunday, at a really awkward hour, so we were able to eat comfortably. We had our 13-month-old with us, and it was so nice that we could all eat together because they have dombe meat.

Why it was easy to visit with a baby

They have two baby chairs, so you can eat comfortably even when visiting with a little one. Above all, dombe meat is on the side menu: boiled pork with absolutely zero gamy smell and a lovely herbal aroma. I really recommend ordering it when you go with a baby!

My husband and I really love hangover soup, but it has been so hard to go out for it while raising a child. Now, though, I think we can come to Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk from now on, so I am delighted to feel like we have checked off another great restaurant.

Spicy hangover soup with seonji and dadegi included

Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk is popular with everyone for its reasonable prices and generous bowls of hangover soup! We had avoided this famous place because we worried the wait would be intense, but now that I have finally tried it, here is a useful tip: the standard soup comes with seonji (congealed ox blood) and dadegi (seasoned chili paste), so it is quite spicy.

Tablet with hangover soup ordering information

The tablet ordering system lets people who do not like seonji or that punchy spicy flavor order to their preference. But since I had no idea how spicy the standard version would be, we went ahead and ordered it as is〰!

The tidy self-service bar and unlimited refills of steamed rice really make this feel like an incredibly generous hangover-soup restaurant!

The crunchy kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) and Cheongyang chili peppers that are indispensable at a good hangover-soup restaurant came as basic sides too!-! Both of my favorite side dishes were there, so I ate them deliciously with hearts in my eyes!-!

Dombe meat our 13-month-old ate so well

The first thing to arrive was the dombe meat that our little cutie ate so well! It is Jeju-style boiled pork!-! It had been cooked without any gamy smell, with a subtle herbal aroma too. Our baby must have thought it was the best thing ever, because they ate an entire medium platter!🥲 Their tummy was round and full after finishing it all, and Mum and Dad were so moved!

They gave us vegetables for wraps, salted shrimp, and garlic, which really whetted our appetites. We wrapped up a bite and ate it, nodding along with each other because it was so delicious!

It was moist and not greasy at all—so good I could have kept eating forever. Next time, I am definitely ordering the large platter!-!

Generous ingredients and a punchy broth

Then the spicy hangover soup arrived. At first, its aroma seemed spicy enough to make me cough, but the more I ate, the more it felt like a heat level any Korean person could enjoy!

Spicy hangover soup with seonji, glass noodles, and meat

It had that satisfyingly spicy, hangover-clearing feeling! It was less spicy than or about as spicy as Shin Ramyun, rather than the heat of Buldak. Can you see how generously packed it is? Big pieces of seonji, glass noodles, meat, and bean sprouts all came together so deliciously that I practically had my face in the bowl!

It was such a packed bowl of soup that I polished off a bowl of rice and ate until I was incredibly full. It was so delicious that, when I am exhausted from childcare, I can already imagine us getting it to go and enjoying it at home after putting the baby to bed.

Being able to enjoy this clean, odor-free flavor that feels like Jeju right here in Suwon is such a huge plus! Above all, the open restaurant layout, tidy surroundings, and kind owner made for a truly delicious meal. As someone who has tried it, I highly, highly recommend it!
