Seongsu Italian restaurant, artist-studio ambience: Billadeubeulleu

I went to Billadeubeulleu Seongsu, a lovely restaurant in Seongsu by Seoul Forest, for Southern Italian food, and the Mediterranean dishes were healthy and delicious. It is right beside Seoul Forest, so the location is really great. There are outdoor seats in front of the restaurant too, and the weather happened to be so lovely on the day I visited that it felt like I was traveling abroad. It made for a perfect Seoul Forest date. ^^

What are Billadeubeulleu Seongsu's signature dishes?

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu is famous as a great Seongsu restaurant. Its two signature dishes are the cheese-pour lasagna, which has 23 million views, and the T-bone steak finished with poured ghee for half the price of Outback. Billadeubeulleu originally had its flagship restaurant in Haebangchon, then came over to Seongsu and opened Billadeubeulleu Seongsu.

At Billadeubeulleu Seongsu, you can enjoy a Seoul Forest date at a spacious, comfortable restaurant with pasta, risotto, steak, octopus, salads, a range of wines, brunch, cocktails, and even a leisurely cup of coffee.

An artist's-villa-like space and outdoor tables

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu has the subtitle “Atelier della Musa” (the Muse's Atelier). The space was created around the persona of an artist's studio, where he paints a female muse. Imagine an artist's villa and studio somewhere on the coast of a Southern European resort, a space holding the lover he paints and misses. When I actually dined there, it was so relaxing that I felt as if I had traveled around the Mediterranean, and it put me in a good mood. ^^

I used an outdoor table because the weather was nice. You can order through Catch Order at the table. There is a wine list, so if you did not drive, try ordering a bottle. It is such a beautiful restaurant that you can enjoy wine, Italian food, and a truly wonderful Seoul Forest date.

Billadeubeulleu Seongsu's indoor space is nice too. It is still hot in the middle of the day, so choose an indoor table if you would prefer a comfortable space.

Sanghwa soda water with lasagna

Carbonated drinks go well with Italian food too. A popular drink here is Sanghwa Soda Water, which is pure sparkling water. It pairs nicely with lasagna.

Ordering ricotta salad and Octopus Mambo

• Octopus Mambo: tender Mediterranean-style octopus with romesco sauce, potatoes, and peas

The cheese-waterfall lasagna show was fun to watch too. They really do pour it on like a cheese waterfall. The lasagna and rich, nutty cheese go so well together.

Lasagna that was not too rich, and Mediterranean octopus

The ricotta salad was perfect, and I really loved the Alligot Cheese Lasa. Lasagna can be so rich that I hesitate to order it, but Billadeubeulleu's was just right. With lasagna like this, I think I would order it every time I went to an Italian restaurant. The name Octopus Mambo is so fun, isn't it? Its flavor is fun too. The savory octopus with Mediterranean sauce was delicious and healthy enough to make me think I could eat it every day.

Ice cream dessert after the meal

After you finish your meal, there is an ice cream dessert. It is free if you write a Naver review. Dessert is essential when you go to Italy, right? Do not forget dessert at the end of a European-style meal. It makes the meal complete.

Parking and a Seoul Forest date recommendation

With this level of food, space, and atmosphere, Billadeubeulleu Seongsu could easily take the triple crown as a great restaurant in Seongsu, Seoul Forest, and Ttukseom. When autumn skies are blue and a gentle breeze comes along, I recommend a date at Billadeubeulleu Seongsu.

Billadeubeulleu does not have its own parking lot. If you drive, the nearest public parking lots are Seongdong-gu Community Sports Center Public Parking Lot and Ttukseom Detention Basin Public Parking Lot. Have a wonderful Seongsu-dong date at Billadeubeulleu Seongsu. ^^
