Sokcho Korean restaurant for red snow crab: Jin Seiromushi
In short
Jin Seiromushi is a Korean restaurant in Sokcho, Gangwon, where I ordered set meals with marinated red snow crab and roe-filled shrimp. The crab was not overly salty and had plenty of meat, while the shrimp was sweet and rich; the generous side dishes and pot-cooked rice made for a filling lunch.

For my first meal of the Sokcho trip, I went to Jin Seiromushi (진 세이로무시). I ordered the marinated red snow crab set meal and marinated shrimp set meal, and the side dishes and pot-cooked rice were just as memorable as the marinated seafood.
Where is Jin Seiromushi, and is parking convenient?
The address is 13 Seonsa-ro 2-gil, Sokcho-si, Gangwon State, South Korea. The hours listed in the original post are 10:30–21:00 from Wednesday through Monday, with regular closure on Tuesdays.

I visited at noon on a Saturday. The dedicated parking lot made parking easy, and the entrance was also on the parking-lot side.

There was outdoor seating, but it rained on the day I visited. I thought it would be nice to eat outside in cool autumn weather.

What were the interior and facilities like?
As I went inside, the elaborate chandelier was the first thing that caught my eye. The high ceiling also made the room feel open.

Separate restrooms for men and women were located at the back of the dining room, and I washed my hands after eating the marinated crab. I also liked that the tableware was packaged once more.

Which set meals did I order, and does hinoki cypress steam require a reservation?
I ordered the marinated red snow crab set meal and marinated shrimp set meal. I heard that hinoki cypress steam was also a well-known menu item, but I was told at the time of my visit that it needed to be reserved in advance. I could not try it this time and would like to have it next time.
At the time of my visit, I was told that red snow crab was not served on the seafood platter during the July–August closed season. So we chose the marinated red snow crab and marinated shrimp set meals.

What side dishes and rice came with the set meals?
There was a wide variety of banchan (Korean side dishes), so there was plenty to eat with the rice besides the marinated seafood. Among them, I especially enjoyed the kodari (semi-dried pollock).

Then the marinated red snow crab and shrimp arrived. It was my first time trying marinated red snow crab, so I was especially curious about it.

Along with the raw marinated seafood, the meal also included meat and grilled yellow croaker.

The doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) had plenty of tofu. It was clean-tasting rather than heavy.

The rice came as sotbap (rice cooked in an individual pot). I think good rice matters with marinated crab, and this pot-cooked rice was tasty on its own and paired well with it. I made nurungji (crispy scorched rice) before starting the meal.

The grilled yellow croaker was golden on the outside, with plump, tender flesh. It was impressive enough to make me wonder how it had been grilled.

I thought the meat would have been good even as a main dish on its own. I was satisfied with all the accompanying dishes too.

Was the marinated red snow crab not too salty, with enough meat?
For my taste, what I liked most was that the marinated red snow crab was not salty. It was also full of meat, so rather than sucking it out with my mouth, I used chopsticks to pull it out.

There was egg on top of the crab shell, so I added the pot-cooked rice and mixed it together. The mildly seasoned red snow crab went well with the rice.

The body was also generously filled with meat. I squeezed it out and ate it with rice.

How were the roe-filled marinated shrimp and nurungji?
It was my first time trying marinated shrimp with roe. The shrimp was sweet and rich, and I also placed it over rice and ate it like a small piece of sushi.

I also enjoyed the nurungji I had made earlier. Even though I thought I had scraped the pot thoroughly, quite a few rice grains were still left.

I finished with one last bite of marinated shrimp. I have had marinated crab and shrimp several times, but it was my first time having marinated red snow crab and roe-filled marinated shrimp, so they stayed with me. After the side dishes and pot-cooked rice, I was so full that I could not eat dinner until 8 p.m.
