We always end up dating around Nowon, so for a change of scenery we decided to check out Cheonggyecheon Stream and head all the way to Euljiro this time~! We visited Pyu Euljiro, a well-known Euljiro restaurant near Euljiro 3-ga Station, after looking for somewhere with a slightly different menu from what we usually eat 。•ᴗ•。
Where is Pyu Euljiro, and what are the hours and parking?

- Parking: 1 hour free

Pyu Euljiro is close to Exit 9 of Euljiro 3-ga Station, so it was easy to reach by public transit, and since the building has a basement parking lot, driving there wasn't a bad option either. We got 1 hour of free parking. Cheonggyecheon Stream is also nearby, so it was nice to take a walk before or after the meal. We had our meal and then walked along Cheonggyecheon, properly enjoying an Euljiro date after a long while haha.
We had reserved ahead, and there was a name tag placed on our table! Little touches like that make you kind of happy haha.

Pyu Euljiro's wide hall and table spacing, easy for a first meeting
I was surprised at how spacious the inside was when we first walked in! The overall decor centered on beige and wood tones, with green plants and trees added here and there, giving it a calm yet comfortable atmosphere~

It felt more like a lounge or wine bar than a typical restaurant, so I think anyone looking for an atmospheric spot for an Euljiro date or Euljiro blind date would like it. What I liked most was the wide spacing between tables. It seemed good even for a setting like a blind date where you need to talk a lot with each other, so it would work well as an Euljiro blind date spot haha. Thanks to that, we could enjoy our meal chatting comfortably without any noisy feeling.
If you go further inside past the entrance on the right, there's another spacious area where relatively fewer people sit, so if you want to talk quietly, that inner seating might be a good option~!

Also, this Euljiro restaurant, Pyu Euljiro, was running a photo review event where you get a glass of wine for leaving a photo review~! If you like wine, this seems like a good event to join while eating.

What we ordered at Pyu Euljiro and what it cost
That day we ordered charcoal octopus with romesco (34,000) and mackerel pasta (30,000)~ We also ordered a non-alcoholic Gyulrurala (12,500) and a Cuna de Sol Cabernet Sauvignon wine (12,000).

When the wine came, I liked that the wine glass was bigger than I expected! The tableware was also neatly set out on the table, which made me look forward to the food haha.

Charcoal octopus with romesco, 34,000 won: springy bites with a smoky edge
First to arrive was the charcoal octopus with romesco! I'd actually never had this combination before, so I was curious how it would taste?! The octopus was piled on fairly thick, and one bite showed it had a bouncy, chewy texture that was fun to chew!
I also liked that you could faintly taste the charcoal smoke. It felt different from simply grilling octopus, so even though it was my first time trying this dish, it was satisfying!

Underneath the octopus was a layer of romesco sauce, which is apparently a Spanish sauce made by grinding roasted red peppers, tomatoes, and nuts like almonds~ Maybe because of that, it had a savory yet slightly tangy flavor, and it went really well with the octopus. It also matched nicely with the octopus's clean, mild taste, hehe.
Cutting the octopus into pieces and eating it with the sauce made me feel like I was having a somewhat more upscale dish than the grilled octopus I usually eat!

This is the kind of dish that would be great to order for an atmospheric meal too. This was my favorite of the night~!

Mackerel pasta, 30,000 won: boneless fillet in an oil pasta
Next up was the mackerel pasta! The combination of mackerel and pasta was also new to me, and I was curious how it would taste, but it went together better than I expected~!

The base was a mild oil pasta with a subtle spicy kick added, topped with nicely browned grilled mackerel~

It was also convenient that the mackerel was boneless, so you didn't have to worry about picking out bones. It would be a bummer to be picking out fish bones on a blind date, ugh haha.
Cutting it gently with chopsticks or a fork, the flesh flaked apart softly, and it went well with the pasta~ Arugula was mixed in too, adding a fragrant touch, and overall it was easy to eat without feeling too heavy.

The portion was also more generous than expected, so it was good for two people to share haha. I think anyone who likes fish would be curious enough to try ordering this dish at least once!

Which occasions is Pyu Euljiro best for?
This Euljiro restaurant, Pyu Euljiro, was a good pick when I wanted to try something a little different from the usual, like charcoal octopus or mackerel pasta! It seemed good as an Euljiro lunch spot if you want an atmospheric meal even at lunchtime, and in the evening you can enjoy wine along with your meal, so it also looked good for an Euljiro date or Euljiro blind date haha. If you're in the mood for a slow conversation in a nice atmosphere over something a bit different, I think Pyu Euljiro is worth a try at least once 。•ᴗ•。
