Gangnam Korean BBQ restaurant for Hanwoo brisket: Daepae Market

A 24-hour thin-sliced meat restaurant in Nonhyeon-dong’s dining alley

Nini heard there was a great Nonhyeon pork belly spot near Nonhyeon Station that stays open 24 hours, so off I went! The unlimited self-serve bar makes it easy to enjoy fresh wrap vegetables and side dishes, while the thin-sliced meat is cut to order at affordable prices. I loved being able to have flavorful, quality meat, so here is my review of Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch!

Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch is a meat restaurant by Nonhyeon Station, in the Nonhyeon-dong dining alley you see when you get off near Sinnonhyeon. It has two floors, the first and second.

There are so many celebrity signatures right from the entrance! It has appeared on several shows, including Tovely's Meal and Gourmet Transmission Company, and is said to be well known as a company dinner spot for Nonhyeon-dong office workers. Since it is open 24 hours, it seems easy to visit anytime.

Nini visited at around 4 p.m. on a weekend, when there were plenty of open seats, but by around 5 p.m. lots of tables had filled up.

You can also book through Naver, so making a reservation should save you from waiting. And when the weather is lovely like it is these days, you can even sit on the outdoor terrace and have pork belly—so nice!

First order and dishes to have alongside

At Daepae Market, the meat is sliced as soon as you order! From thin-sliced pork shoulder in the ₩4,000 range to thin-sliced Hanwoo brisket in the ₩10,000 range, you can have meat at good-value prices, which means it does not feel like a burden on the wallet. The first order requires at least three servings, so Nini ordered two servings of chewy pork belly, one serving of thin-sliced Hanwoo brisket, and soft tofu jjageuli.

There are also lots of meal dishes that go well on the side, such as doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), naengmyeon (cold noodles), Yeol Ramen, myeongran-bap (pollock roe rice), and fried rice, which was great.

₩2,000-per-person self-serve bar side dishes

At Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch, a 24-hour Gangnam restaurant, you can use the self-serve bar for ₩2,000 per person. It was great that I could take as much perilla leaf, napa cabbage, pickled radish wraps, enoki mushrooms, green onion kimchi, and other vegetables as I wanted. There is an environmental charge for leftover food, so please only take what you can finish.

The side dishes I brought from the self-serve bar~~ There were scallion salad, onions, green onion kimchi, and lots more, so I definitely recommend adding the self-serve bar. The green onion kimchi was especially delicious!

Chewy pork belly and thin-sliced Hanwoo brisket

At Daepae Market, a great Gangnam meat restaurant, the meat is cut with a slicer as soon as you order. You can choose the thickness you want, and because it is fresher, I thought the meat quality was excellent.

The chewy pork belly and thin-sliced Hanwoo brisket Nini ordered~~

First, the chewy pork belly~! Being able to have pork belly of this quality in the ₩5,000 range~~ It was savory, crisp, and so delicious.

I also grilled the enoki mushrooms and bracken fern from the self-serve bar, and they were so good. The pickled onions and green onion kimchi were all so delicious too!! With all the side dishes, it felt like having a proper Korean set meal, which I loved.

Next up was the thin-sliced Hanwoo brisket!! As expected, Hanwoo is on a completely different level of quality. It melted in my mouth as soon as I ate it! I cannot believe I only ordered one serving! When Nini comes back, I think I will order nothing but thin-sliced Hanwoo brisket~~ It was so delicious!!

Soft tofu jjageuli served with a bowl of rice

I tried the soft tofu jjageuli from the stew menu! It comes with a bowl of rice, and the soft tofu stew had that punchy flavor like ramen seasoning, so it was so good with the meat. Nini usually loves recipes using soft tofu, and it suited my taste perfectly. Since rice comes with it, you do not need to order it separately.

For anyone who wants quality meat at affordable prices while enjoying an outdoor-terrace atmosphere in Gangnam, I recommend visiting Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch, a great Nonhyeon meat restaurant. Nini paid out of pocket and would absolutely come back!
