I went to Mikado Sushi Chungnam Seosan Branch, a hot sushi spot in Seosan's Seongnim-dong. It's a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant with amazing value — every single plate is a flat ₩2,100, so you can enjoy sushi without worrying about the bill. The turnover is fast, so the sushi stays fresh and high quality. If you're looking for a genuinely good sushi restaurant in Seosan, I definitely recommend checking this place out.
Mikado Sushi Chungnam Seosan Branch

How long is the wait during evening peak hours?
This place is famous as a genuinely great sushi restaurant in Seosan, so there was a wait line the day I visited too. But since turnover is fast and there are plenty of seats, I was able to get in after about a 20-minute wait.
If you visit during evening peak hours, you should basically assume there'll be a wait — but it moves faster than you'd think, so it's worth it!
Flat ₩2,100 pricing, no plate-color distinction
You pick whatever sushi you want off the conveyor rail, and every plate — no matter the color — is just ₩2,100. That means you can focus purely on the sushi, which is probably why I keep coming back. At most conveyor-belt sushi places, plate colors mean different prices, so you end up quietly tracking the bill as you eat. Here, since it's a flat rate regardless of color, I didn't have to think about money at all, and that was great.

Bar seats with partitions — solo dining works here too
The space is on the compact side, with 4-person tables and bar seating, but there are plenty of seats, and partitions between tables give you a sense of separation from your neighbors, which made the space feel more comfortable. You could really feel the thoughtfulness toward guests in the interior. Also — the cozy, comfortable bar seats mean this is a restaurant where solo dining in Seosan works perfectly fine ✨️

There are no basic side dishes provided — it's self-serve — but broth is placed at every table so you can refill it easily, which was nice and hassle-free.

80-some kinds of sushi, plus dessert
With around 80 different kinds of sushi and dishes, Mikado Sushi Chungnam Seosan Branch makes its food from ingredients sourced fresh that morning, so it's a genuinely good conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in Seosan that delivers both value and satisfaction. They also have various desserts ready to go — mempōsha (Chinese-style fried shrimp toast), macarons, pudding, cake, and fried items — so it's a great place to enjoy a meal and dessert all in one visit.

If a menu item isn't on the conveyor rail, you can write it down on a memo pad and hand it to staff, and they'll make it fresh right away. That felt different from just grabbing plates off the rail — like being taken care of.

The best sushi: abalone and eel
I tried to taste one of everything, but with so many varieties, I was getting full plate by plate, haha. The abalone sushi topped with one whole chunky abalone and the thick, flavor-packed eel sushi were the best.

No wasabi on the sushi, plus udon and pork-bone ramen
One of the great things about this Seosan sushi restaurant is that there's no wasabi on the sushi. Each table can add wasabi to taste, and that thoughtfulness toward guest preference impressed me all over again.
Pairing udon and pork-bone ramen with the sushi made for a more filling, satisfying meal overall. The portions were easy to handle, so it was perfect for ordering a few different things to try. In particular, the new pork-bone ramen's deep umami from the rich bone broth is on a whole different level. The udon is a crowd-pleasing side that's hard to dislike!

Can't forget the new menu item either — a plate with plump, springy shrimp and popping flying fish roe that had me making sounds of admiration.

To sum up
Mikado Sushi Chungnam Seosan Branch, which I've introduced here as a Seosan sushi restaurant, is located in Seosan's Seongnim-dong, and it's a genuinely great sushi spot my husband and I visit often. The prices are low, but you still get high-quality sushi — if you love sushi, I definitely recommend giving this place a visit!
